Did you go shopping for the ring? Did he surprise you? How did you feel knowing you were getting engaged?

Yes and No...my e-ring was my mom's. My dad passed away when I was a kid and my mom had put her ring away in storage for safe keeping. She left it there for over 20 years. Last year she offered it to my FH and he loved the idea of giving me a ring with such history behind it. I knew it was coming because they both wanted to make sure I liked the idea so they ran it by me but I didn't know how or when he was going to do it. I had never seen the ring before he gave it to me...since it was away for so long no one really remembered it so it was like it was brand new but with a huge history behind it! I love it!

He knew what kind of ring I wanted. we had a trip planned to St.Lucia in December and I thought it would happen then. But we went to Cape Cod in August, and he proposed there. I was totally surprised.

We looked at rings and I tried a few on...just to see different styles.
But, I wasn't in on the engagement...I had no idea when he bought the ring or when he was proposing...it was all a complete surprise to me!!!

We were together for over 7 years when we got engaged! Yes we went ring shopping (it started like 2 years before he proposed though). I liked many rings, but the one I feel in love with was a scott kay ring that DH made me try on. A few months later he had it made for me, and he proposed. I thought I still had at least a few more months of waiting. I WAS SURPRISED, but hoped it was coming!
