we had talked about it a lot and i knew he already bought the ring so i knew it was coming soon, but i wasn't expecting it that day.

Same here. I knew it all, except the actual date he was doing it. I still was shocked because I had almost given up that day.

I knew it was COMING-----I wasn't sure WHAT DAY---although he started dropping hints and i had an inkling....and my fam was acting ODD....but... all in all I kinda knew it was coming..... but he definitely made me wait it out the day of..... and i was almost ready to give up and think.. 'maybe it's not today'

I had a feeling but wasn't quite sure. If it didn't happen when it did, then I wouldn't have known any other time it could be. We talked about it pretty often and 'maybe over the summer' came up... so what better way than while on vacation?

Believe it or not after 6.5 years of dating, I was totally caught off guard and have not one clue it was coming.

My FH is very predictable so I had an idea it was going to be that day and that place but I didnt know it was going to be this year, I thought next year

Mine was rather unromantic....
I knew about it already...
He gave me my ring on Christmas but didnt ask cos he knew I didnt want to ever be proposed to on a holiday.. So the next day he brought me into the BATHROOM and asked me to marry him....
I knew all about it... But I was surprised when I opened my ring and cried like a baby...
When he asked, I just laughed, said yea idiot, and then told him to get up!

i was shocked when he did it bc i had a hunch it was going to happen on the cruise we were goin on like a week later... and later i found out that a friend of mine told him i thought it would be then (which i was right) so he did it a week earlier with me in my pj's in my apt...

I was in shock! We had been together for 4 years already and we talked about it a lot and I thought at least another year. I also didn't expect him to get down on one knee in JFK airport!
