I wondered and thought how cool would it be to get engaged on my birthday- but never thought FH would have a ring - He had been in between jobs for a few months so money was/is really tight! But thankfully his mom gave him the stone from her engagement ring (FH father has passed) and he just had to get the setting! It was a perfect day! I was more surprised by the party I walked into after he proposed!

I knew it was coming, I just didnt know exactly when it would happen. In the beginning of Sept. his sister took me ring shopping and I made a top 3 list, so that when she brought him to pick it out it would still be a surprise to me as to which one he picked. Then towards the end of Sept. I knew he actually had it as he kind of slipped about having it and then his sister slipped confirming it.
I thought it was going to happen on my birthday in Oct. when that didn't happen I figured it wouldn't happen until christmas. But then he surprised me-which really shocked me.
The day before Halloween (my favorite holiday) he came over and handed me a pumpkin. He took the lid off of the pumpkin and inside it was filled with orange and white m&m's and printed on them it said: Teri Will you Marry Me? and peeking up in the middle you could spot the bow to the ring box.
I shocked him and myself by not crying, I think I was more in shock by him surprising me and by having the whole thing sink in

We had talked about it like every other couple. But I had no idea. I actually thought he was cheating on me because he was so secretive and he had told me the week before he proposed he was going xmas shopping with his sister. I called him out on it because I had seen her earlier thst day at the mall. He made some excuse. So when it happened I was so shocked. I didn't cry until like 1/2 hr later when I realized what had happened. I never said yes to him I just shook my head yes lol. I told him yes later on though.

I was, DH always told me that when he asked it would be just us-he doesnt do 'group' attention so well.
He asked me at midnight New Years in the middle of a place where there were over 200 people....and in the middle of those 2 hundred people. I have it on video and you can see I get pissed b/c he is interrupting my watching of the ball drop

I had a pretty good idea that FH had planned on proposing at an awards banquet I was being honored at. It was a really nice idea, my whole family and a ton of friends were in attendance, but not meant to be. (I found out later)The jeweler had fashioned my ring in yellow gold and not white and had to start the process over. I was expecting him to propose then and he did not so it threw me off for a while.
He ended up proposing while we were on vacation, having the ring box tucked away in a pair of his socks the whole time. Walking on the beach he popped the question. I think I was more worried about him dropping my ring in the surf in the dark then anything

we were dating almost two and a half years. i knew it was going to happen, but not when it did. i figured he would ask me 6 months to a year after he did, so i was surprised but not.

I was surprised but not totally shocked. We were together 5 years so I knew it was coming before too much longer. But the actual proposal itself was a great surprise.

I knew he was going to propose, but I was in complete shock when he proposed, I wasn't expecting it for a few more months so he totally threw me off by doing it earlier.

i was so shocked! as for suprised ummm i dont know. we got engaged 12/7/07, i knew he had been talking to a guy in st martin about my ring....so i knew it was going to happen with in a few mo. (i would have put my money down that it was going to happen christmas time). but low and behold my FH came home from work got in the shower so i came in the bathroom to show him a new outfit for our night out the following night he told me to give him 5 min, of course i didnt (haha), so when he got out of the shower he told me something was missing and asked me to try on different shoes, so i went in the closet, which gave him time to get the ring out of his jeans pocket he got down on one knee a wiped the ring out from underneath his towel as asked me to marry him........i just stood there with my hands over my mouth for a good 2 min, didnt say a word i dont even think i was breathing and then of course i said YES!

we were together 5 and 1/2 years..so needless to say we were talking about it a lot...so I wasn't too shocked..but i did not think it would happen when it did either..so that was a surprise

i was shocked!! i had thought it was happening the past summer when it didn't i just gave up speculating... i knew it would happen at the perfect time, and it did!!

not at all.. actually our parents told us to forgo the proposal b/c they wanted to do it the religious way.. but he wanted to do a little something special.. so just suprised that he did that.. but besides that nada..
