Were you surprised when FI proposed, or did you totally expect it?

I totally knew the day I was going to be proposed to.

FI told me I HAD to be home by 5:30, because we just HAD to go to Home Depot together (What A Horrible Reason....I knew something was up right then and there...I NEVER go to Home Depot)..

Then, he was over 2 hours late...(he locked his keys in his car while he was really at Home Depot...with still a stop to make at the jewelers to pick up the ring)...then he went inside, missed the locksmith guy...had to wait another hour for him to show up a second time!

Well, let's just say by the time he got home, he was so frazzled....he just said, 'COme ON, Let's walk down to the beach...' and grabbed these two wine glasses and just totally gave it away with the expression on his face.

But, It was still very special!

I had a feeling about the day, but I was surprised when he did it.

I was completely 100% shocked. We went on a Disney Cruise which was a surprise trip. Before we left our room we got this note in our room that we were chosen as the 'magical couple' and had won this like dessert tasting thing. Then Jeff proceeded to act all happy and be like that was the big surprise- I entered us into that contest so many times. Me being so dumb, I completely thought he was for real. So we went to dinner and the waiter was acting a little funny but I STILL didn't realize it. Then the manager comes over and says I'm here to take you for the desserts. I started to get a little suspicious because he was holding our camcorder so I told him I wanted to hold it. Just to see if he was doing something. But we get up to this deck and I saw a table that has a little I LOVE YOU banner and glasses and then I look to another side and see a sign that says will you marry me. I was in TOTAL shock and he got down on one knee and asked. Of course I said yes but I was in complete SHOCK!!!

I was completely suprised! I expected it to be in September on our cruise to Bermuda. However he proposed in May. My girlfriends knew I had no idea because I had just taken my (fake) nails off to give them a breather and put them back on for our cruise (thinking that's when I would get my ring). So I had a beautiful ring and some awful looking nails. I ran right the the nail salon the next day!

Completely SHOCKED!! I didn't hear a word he said and I didn't even answer him until a few minutes after he asked. I was such a goofball!

I had a slight feeling that he would propose on our anniversary (1/14), but he did it on 1/1/02....total surprise to me

Totally surprised. We had looked at rings a while back, but he was sorting of talking up this summer or winter. We went to Key West (our FAVORITE place), and the first nite we were there, he rushed me down to the sunset, which is THE EVENT in Key West. He gave a guy our camera, asked him to take a pic, and the next thing I knew he was on one knee. I freaked, said yes of course, and then saw the ring!!! It was the most amazing experience of my life. And everyone else knew.

Completely surprised! We were living together for a year at that point and he kept on saying for months that he was too young to get married. Once he turned 30, he changed his tune and complained about getting old. I knew we would be together but figured we would get engaged about five years from now. On my birthday, he asked me whether I wanted my birthday present before dinner, during dinner, or after dinner. Thinking he was giving me a hard-covered book, I told him he could give me my present after dinner at home. We got home and he told me to sit on the couch with my eyes closed. I heard him get my present and heard him bend down and when I opened my eyes, he had a ring for me! When he asked, I kept on saying 'Really? Really? You want to spend the rest of your life with me?' He told me to just say yes and I did!

Shhh !! Incase I can get to the GTG and FH comes... But I knew. I am really nosy and just happened to find the receipt in his wallet. Accidentally of course. But we went away the weekend he proposed and I was in suspense the whole time. I knew it was going to happen but I didn't know when. So I actually was kinda surprised and in shock when he did it.

We were in the jewlery store looking at something to buy his grandmother for her 90th birthday. He picked out a setting from the display & asked if i liked it & I said no....this happened about 5 or 6 times, and then he said, 'would you just like one so I can propose already?!' It was so cute he was trying to be all romantic, but totaly lost it b/c he thought I knew what he was doing, but I really didn't....I almost made him not ask me!

I was totally surprised DH kept telling me we would go look for rings labor day weekend, so I thought he would propose for Christmas We went to Fire Island for a week in August, arriving on a Sunday which is reggae. He had all of our friends come too. It turned out to be a miserable rainy day but everyone still came, still had no clue. He had 3 of his friends at different times holding the ring because he was afraid I would go in his pocket. When we were at reggae at Flynn's he finally had the ring himself and was keeping his distance. I thought he just wanted to hang with the guys while I was with the girls. The last song of the night comes on called the big bamboo and toward the middle of the song King Wellington (the lead singer) calls us up(still no clue) and starts singing to us about me taking Steve's bamboo for the rest of our lives STILL NO CLUE. He then hands the microphone to Steve who proceeds to say all these wonderful things to me in front of the entire crowd at Flynn's. he then gets on one knee and asks me to marry him! I say yes and the entire crowd goes nuts!!!! It was so great!! Steve also had a friend videotape the entire thing so I have it I had no idea he had even called in sick to work the week before to pick up the ring and ask my Dad It was fabulous

i kinda knew that he had it - we had looked together and fh is such a poor liar that i knew when he actually brought it home.....but when he did it, i was surprised - i knew it was coming but not then and there!!!....
