How does the WM count vendors that you feed? Are they half-price? Do they count towards your minimum?

They're half price only if you meet your minimum.
If you do not meet your minimum they're full price.
Same w/children, etc....the discounted prices are only if you meet your min.

you can try typing that florists name in search. i also read a ton of horrible things about them on this web site. i used pedestals florist. they were expensive but overall, i was very pleased. i posted a ton of pics on this thread from my wedding a few pages back. I Hope that this helps!

Hi Everyone,

I was just reading the posts this morning and was very happy to see so many Westbury Manor brides. . . so happy that I had to take the leap and register so I could be a part of the thread My date is June 24, 2006. Ceremony at WM 11:30 with reception in the Garden Room/Library. You all seem so together even in your frazzled states. . . I haven't even picked my photographer yet. . . YIKES!! FYI, I am a self-proclaimed queen of procrastination. I figure I have a beautiful place. I have a great band (LI Paramount's Arcadia) I have my dress, etc. I am almost decided on the florist. . . so, everything else will fall into place. . .RIGHT?? but geez, who knew it would be so crazy!! Anyway, best of luck to everyone and any advice would be greatly appreciated. . . Jennifer

Congratulations on choosing Westbury Manor...I am sure you won't be dissappointed

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Hi ladies. . .

First let me say, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Fallbride and LM903. . . you were both right and your advice is greatly appreciated. I did as suggested. . .researched a little more and went to the Better Business Bureau to look up the florist . . . and WOW I am definately going to make sure I do that with any vendor I am considering because I was very surprised by what I found. . . the florist was a . . . they had way too many negative complaints filed against them with the bureau Needless to say I am still looking for a florist

While it is disappointing to not have the florist crossed off my extremely long list . . . I am very grateful for your posted concerns.

LM903 I went to look at Pedestal's after Fallbride's post on Friday. . . I almost cancelled and went with the other florist prior to her post. . . thank goodness I didn't because I LOVED them. . . I met with Robert and thought he was fantastic. Who did you work with there and do you honestly only have good comments about them? Was your experience completely positive?? I promised FH I would see another florist just to be sure. . . he thinks I am too easily swayed and that I always think the last place I saw is the best. . . I say he doesn't know how physically, mentally and emotionally draining looking at 50 million vendors can be Between you and me (okay and anyone else who reads this post ) I'm kinda set on Pedestals. . . but what if the next vendor is better?! hmmm. . . . jk

Anyway, thank you both for your kindness and insight. . . and thank you everyone else who has been so nice

We are using Pedestals as well. We are working with Robert and he is such a sweetheart - I had no idea what I wanted in flowers, and he just asked me my colors and ran away with it!... Its almost time to see our sample CP, I am sure it will be beautiful!

Good luck sugarcube. . . I think he was great. . .I'd love to hear how it goes. . . Lauren, that's exactly how I felt. . .I am clueless about flowers and he seems to know exactly what I'm looking for before I do. . .

I think I am going to look at Verbena Designs before finalizing Pedestals though. . . Anyone have any experience with them? What about photography. . .Anyone had any experience with Hiroshi at Affordable Photography?

You are so welcome!!! I remember how much I relied on advice from these boards when I was planning my wedding - so I am delighted to help! Pedestals was awesome - from start to finish - i had no complaints whatsoever. I questioned my choice a few months into planning, thinking I was paying a lot - but as it turns out - they really weren't expensive. Plus, day of - my flowers were gorgeous!!! And very much well worth every penny.

Below are some 'flower' shots. I hope this helps. I worked with Erin and did a low CP with 3 pillar candles - i believe they were $110 each.
My BOK was a bit too big in my opinion - my only complaint! And the darn thing weighed like 50 lbs!!! the next day my arms were sore!

Anyway, FM me if anyone needs additional info! Thanks!

YIPPY. . . just wanted to let everyone know, we settled on our photographer. We are going with Patken. FH and I met with Doug last night and fell in love. . .although FH did remind me that this was the latest photography vendor we had seen. . . ( yeah, yeah, I guess it's true. . .I do always think that the last vendor is the best ) Anyway. . .so that is settled. . .and now just one final florist to check out this morning (to appease him ) and then I can say yes to my preferred florist Pedestals . . . the one I am looking at is Verbena Designs in Hicksville. . anyone have any experience with them? How about Patken?

YES!! It was amazing!!!! I have such a sweet tooth so I was totally head over heals with our cake. It was one that was included in the WM package.... vanilla cake w/buttercream icing and raspberry filling. UMMM UMMM UMMM!!!! Imust admit, FH and I have taken little bits of the cake that's in our freezer. Don't think they'll be any left over for our 1 year anniversary! that's ok - we'll be back at the WM for dinner that day!

Girls I am so sad - i found out that another bride is scheduled to use the ceremony area before me. I am at noon and she is at 11 AM - how does this work? Where do my guests go if they get to WM early?

I feel so stressed about this!!!!!!

Don't be stressed at all. This happens all the time. They move things along with no problems.
Your guests will be escorted to the bar area for drinks &/or breakfast.
WM are pros at this.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Yippy. . . okay ladies, so it's true what my FI says. . . I do always go with the last vendor I saw ( aarggghhh. . . I hate when he's right and I'm wrong ) . . . we did it with WM. . . we did it with our band Arcadia. . . we did it with Patken. . . and now I have officially done it with the florist. . . I went with Verbena over Pedestals for two reasons, 1.--Jennifer at Verbena was more willing to work with my budget and 2--I liked the idea of allowing Jennifer more creative control to create three smaller center pieces kind of trailing down the long table rather than the typical beautiful cp that Pedestals would have put in the center . . . I was really torn initially. . .but the more I thought about it, the more sure I got. . . my initial idea had been a low kind of trailing cp and Jennifer got that. . . and encouraged me to go with my instincts. . . I love that. . . I saw a small sample today before I made my decision and it was beautiful. . . simple yet elegant . . . so I cannot wait for the actual day. . . I'm sooooo excited!!!

Ayadali, I agree. . . it is a little scary. .. but with so much raving about WM, I am 100% confident that there is nothing to worry about. . .although it helps hearing it from former WM brides. . . Fallbride, once again you've made me feel just a tad bit better :) I say HIP HIP HOORAY !! to the newly married WM ladies who stick around to give us advice and calm our fears!! You ladies are the best
