Initially we had planned on going to Cancun, but my parents just came back from there & all the natives told them to tell us to go somewhere else because the weather is horrible there @ that time!

Everything is perfect. They also have their own private island, Bahama cay or something like that, beautiful white sand beach. Tell Pete nothing to worry about.
Lisa, I am going to Riviera Maya which is not too far from Cancun 9/8. Are you telling me I am going to have crappy weather?

I have no idea.... trust me - I was soooooooo when my parents told me what the 'natives' had said! I don't know what to tell you.... But I would definitely discuss with your travel agent what is going to happen IF you do have bad weather....
Luckily - Sandals has some type of hurricane clause - if there is a hurricane that inflicts with your vacation for any amount of time (limited to guests staying no less than 7 days), then Sandals will arrange for the couple - or whomever goes - to revisit Sandals on them & that includes airfare!!!

I remember asking her about Weather and she said that I should not worry.
My friend went to cancun the beginning of sept on her HM and she said the weather was fine.
