What are some of this spring/summers' fashions 'trends'

I get to go buy some new clothes soon and need some ideas....
What are the 'hot' colors? Shoe ideas? I'm not too into heels, I'll do a slide on sandal/sneaker, or a wedge heel or platform.

I get to wear anything I want to work (jeans, tee shirts, shorts, etc).

I'm pretty simple and I like my clothes not to be totally trendy so that they are useless next year, but nice enough that I don't look like I don't fit in......

everything is brightly colored this year - I feel so fat in the spring clothes I've tried on. (Not buying any, too broke!!!)

In shoes, I can definitely tell you wedges are in and those Cami shirts.

All I know is that I tried on clothing in Express and NY & Co today and I didn't like most of the stuff..it was either too bright or too sheer or too clingy. All I got were a couple of pairs of cargo crop pants at NY & co. I saw a lot of beaded and embroidered things that I liked, but nothing looked right on me.

I wish I could wear those camis.....I'm too 'rolly' to wear them alone! You'd be able to see all my rolls....BLECH.

are skorts in?

I hear ya Nic .. everything is brightly colored this year - I feel so fat in the spring clothes I've tried on. (Not buying any, too broke!!!)

I just had a rude awakening at lunchtime today and realize that everything makes me look fatter than I already am

... I just went browsing/window shopping and the colors are LOUD - orange, really bright green, fuschia, turquoise

Turquoise is VERY hot overall - that I can deal with, its a pretty color

otherwise I'm a walking fashion faux pas so I wouldn't really KNOW much about what is truly 'in fashion'

Are they really? that's awesome! My dad worked for keds until he retired a few years ago. As a child, I had a closet full of Keds in every style I wanted. I always got to see the next season's styles months before they came out.

omg how cool.

My parents have a pool table in their den. It was used more for displaying the samples than for playing pool. Twice a year, it would be covered with all the sneakers in the new line!

Yup - I had them too!!

I remember having suede keds booties in purple, turquoise and gold. I used to wear them with multi-colored slouch socks! Geez..i love the 80s!

They're shorts that look like a skirt in the front, but they fit like shorts. I still have one too!

They were really big last year.. I bought quite a few last year for my HM ... which don't fit anymore

BUT I still saw a few the other day and I bought a few new (bigger) ones.. I'm not sure they are really 'in' but I like them and they are very comfy

I told ya I wasn't 'in fashion'
