What are some restaurants near Penn Station?

Maybe Italian or American? Something not that expensive and maybe in walking distance to Penn or a quick subway ride.

Thanks!

I think Tupelo Grill is pretty good. Sorry I don't know that area, I'm over by Grand Central

Tony DiNapoli on 44th street between 6th Avenue and Broadway. It is one train stop on the subway.

Re: What are some restaurants near Penn Station?

Arno's on 38th St. bet. 7th & Broadway (DH's parent's friend owns this)... it's Croatian owned, but good ITALIAN food!

Tony DiNapoli's on 44th St. bet. Broadway & 6th (REALLY GOOD, family style)

Simply Pasta on 41st St. bet. Broadway & 6th

Those are the only places I can think of right now in the vicinity of Penn Station.

Re: What are some restaurants near Penn Station?

Tir Na Nog is a great pub right outside of Penn-8th and 33rd. Moderate to expensive.

Manganero's Hero Boy-inexpensive, awesome heros-on 9th and 37th or 38th

Lots of Korean places on 32nd Street. The only one I've been to is Kum Gan San-very good, cook your own Korean BBQ.

There was a good soul/comfort food place on 34th b/w 8th and 9th...Soul Fixins (I think). Inexpensive.

Never been but I've heard that Svennigsens's lobster roll is out of this world.

The only decent Italian I can think of is Birrichino's on 29th and 8th. Not cheap, though.

Re: What are some restaurants near Penn Station?

I agree--- Tir Na Nog is a great upscale Irish restaurant/pub across from Penn on 8th. Used to go there all the time when I worked over there. There is a good steakhouse too- forgot the name Nick and something...on the 8th ave side of 33th st.
