What are some things you are doing to make your wedding very unique?

Original post by MISHY

I thought this might be a fun question? And it may help others who aren't so creative to get their minds spinning... Thanks

wow, what an old thread!

I like to think that the whole wedding is pretty unique - after all, it's my wedding and I'm just doing things to suit my own tastes!

A few things...

1. I' m having my brother stand on my side rather than being a groomsman.
2. We're having an interfaith ceremony that we plan ourselves, officiated by a judge (who is also a family friend).
3. I'd like to make a lot of things myself... the one project I've been looking at for a while is making my own tiara.
4. Check out the 07 board, and you'll see that I just posted about my current project... I'm learning to play guitar so that I can sing/play a song for FH during our ceremony (and possibly one dedicated to our friends and family at the reception)

1. For each BP couples's entrance at the reception we had them do a little 'act'...example: one couple came out with boxing gloves, another with basketballs, another came out doing the tango(etc.etc.).....lol for our entrance, my hubby came out from under my dress!!!!

2. Our wedding was in December, so we had a trio of Christmas Carolers at the Cocktail Hour.

3. Instead of table #'s we had the word 'Love' in different languages.

4. Wax sealed our invites(they were SO pretty!)

5. Our 'theme' was Roses....so roses were pretty much incorporated into everything!

6. Again to go with the Holiday we had peppermint martinis with little candy canes for stirrers :)

7. We also had cauldrens of eggnog and hot chocolate in the vienese.

8. Personalized Christmas ornaments for favors

9. We had a song open our ceremony....A good friend of ours sang before anyone walked down the aisle...it was nice (& it got everyone quiet & seated!)

10. Hands Ceremony

11. We had our grandmothers & our mothers do the candle lighting

...a slipper basket of course....aaand....there were so many things we did! i can't even remember! but this is such a neat thread!! :)

what a great thread ...
well i dont know if im being unique but We are having a harpist and a flutist play during the cocktail hour . we are also having our DJ record our vows at the church so after the BP walks in they will replay us on the big screen saying I DO and kissing then we will be announced in.

I'm doing a famly unity ceremony during the wedding where my daughter will be called up and given a ring also.

i'm also considering (fh wants this soo badly) doing a choreographed dance routine.

we're doing donation favors to the American Diabetes foundation in honor of my dad

Hi

I am doing a tulle draping around my pews in the church instead of the flowers...

i am going to have an isle runner...

at the reception I will have a photo matt to sign instead of a guestbook

I will be handing out our favors at the end of the night (we are having our reception on a yacht so as everyone is leaving we wil say thank you and give them there gift favor) instead of leaving it on the table...

I know there might be something else... cant think right now brain freeze!
