Just curious, really. Anyone have opinions or knowledge on this?

Woah.....Oheka is quite pricey. I also think Lands End is up there. They are also owned by the same co. as Flowerfields.

I think there is a site fee for Bourne Mansion as well.

Price starts at $159 and the site fee is $3950.

Price is relative, but the most expensive place that i looked into on LI was Oheka. The Bourne, Carlyle, Carltun and Harrsion were all in the same ball park.

The most expensive place in NYC that I looked into was the St. Regis - at that was with my employee discount!!!

with all these prices, people need to keep in mind the season of your affair. Example... there is a price for Crest Hollow and i'm more then half the price that was listed.

What are you getting... this should be more of an estimate.

btw, my guess is Oheka...site fee alone is almost all of my reception cost

Doesn't say so in the magazine

ETS: correction you are right, I now checked there website and made the corrections to my previous post.

That magazine is great- for ideas, but I found the prices they listed were totally off. Maybe some of them listed prices of a wedding with no alchohol for three hours to start!

Def. Oheka

Carlyle & Carltun were the same when I looked. Harrison House was also in the same ball park.

I also looked at the Crescent and they actually wanted more-which I thought was strange, because there menu wasn't up to the level of Carlyle or the Carltun from what I can remember (I was looking in early 2002).

I remember the Crescent being the LEAST likely to negotiate out of all of the halls I went to (Carlyle, Carltun, Harrison House, Crescent, and Water's Edge in LIC).

Oheka
Carltun
Garden City Hotel
Atlantica

are my guesses

i know it is not a hall, and the per person rate is fairly average - but Raphael has a 10K site fee during harvest. This is why I am getting married in early summer there!

I was quoted the same price for Harrison House, Flowerfields & Atlantica...but with different minimums. Oheka was about $100 more/ head, plus site fees. The site fees will kill you everytime.

As for Crescent, they were very open to negotiating my rate - I was pleasantly surprised since I didn't think we'd be able to afford them! Our first choice was LAnds End, but we couldn't possibly afford that - but Oheka blows both of them out of the water!!

Oheka has a $11,000 site fee for 2005 (saturday nights). The site fee is less for other nights. The per person is $165 - $500 ($165 for Mon - Thurs in the off season).

If you do not use a house vendor - that fee is $500.

I'm home in NY now and have my notes.

Oheka site fee for 2004 is $10K for Saturday (all day)
Sunday $9K, Friday $8K M - Thurs $5500
The per person is $165 M - Thur Nov - Mar 05
$190 M - Thur April - Oct (04/05)
Fri $200 ($190 off season)
Sun $230 ($210 off season)
Sat $290 ($260 off season)
Minimum 125 Fri, 150 Sun & 200 for Sat

20% service & tax

Plus the $500 approval fee for outside vendors

Valer $95 each

There are tons of menu upgrades too. Overtime is $2K w/o bar (per hour) & $3500 with bar. Chaplins $20pp & $500 for 1 bartender & 1 manager.

we looked at so many of the places listed and based on my quotes for a Summer 2005 wedding:

Oheka
Carltun
Carlyle
Lands Ends-Flowerfield

I think you might have an old pricing sheet. Oheka does not charge for valets and for outside vendors.

Nope. Just got the pricing sheet about 2 weeks ago. I lost (or tossed out) the first one I had and had another sent out on 11/7/04.

That must be new then. We were not charged for those things.

The Village Club was really really pretty ( on a golf course too!!!)

however, there is no cocktail room (literally, there is no ROOM for cocktail hour, and the dance floor is beat up.

The food I haven't heard anything about.
But the place is beautiful with that spanish deco tiles on the roof...

Actually, if you get married at the Village Club on a Saturday night, the cocktail hour is held in the Grill Room restaurant...it's really cute with all windows, a fireplace and terrace. If you want to get married there on a Sunday however, you can't use the Grill Room for CH because golfers have lunch there....that's one of the reasons it's a lot cheaper there on a Sunday.

So a wedding a Oheka on a Saturday night would cost 68,000?

$290pp x 200 = 58,000 + 10,000 site fee = 68,000

OMG!!!

Out of the places I looked at (at least 16 of them) Flowerfield and Land's End were most expensive. I was able to get a GREAT deal at the Crescent Beach club...$75 a person! So I originally booked that, but my heart belonged to Flowerfield...so I saved and saved.
