What are you doing about kids?

What are you doing about kids?

Hi everyone.

Relatively new to this but figured I'd throw this out and ask you guys what you are doing about kids at your wedding. I'm planning on having about 200 people at my wedding but only inviting kids of my bridal party. Is that going to offend people?

That was a hard decision for us. At first we said 18 or up no exceptions. Then I realized that some of my 1st cousins (most actually) will be anywhere from 8 to 18 so we decided that all the first cousins are invited.

But we are not inviting other kids! I love kids but it is just not what I want for our wedding!.

the only children we will be having at our wedding are the two IN the bridal party (flower girl and ring bearer).

Most of the girls in my bridal party have 2-3 children and I want them to enjoy the evening, not have to worry about running around after their children. If I included children, there would be a LOT!

We are having an adult only reception, 18 and over. We are having our nephew in the wedding ceremony but he will not be at reception (he will be 3 when we marry). We have already been hearing some resistance from family members but this is works best for us.

I am confused about this one too! I don't think I want kids but I just can't decide.

We cut it off at 1st cousins. Some of my 1st cousins will be 10 and 12 by the time the wedding comes but they are also in the bridal party. No 1st cousin's children. We are still deciding on FH's nephew who will be 2. I made it very clear from the beginning though that I didn't want any children.

We are only inviting kids in the BP or the immediate family with one exception. My cousin's daughter's birthday is the same day as the wedding so we are probably going to invite her kids.

Congrats and welcome...

FH and I have recently decided no kids.. our wedding is very late (ceremony @ 7pm) and it would be hard on little kiddies. So we decided all guests are going to be 18 and older except my cousin who is 16. and if anyone is offended that is their problem.. my 8 yr old nephew said it best.. he was like go to your wedding?? instead of playing with my friends??? your nuts! lol

The only children that will be at the reception are our RB, FG's and Jr. Bridesmaid. Otherwise, children are not invited.

I totally understand people who say no kids! I would be like that too except there are no real kids in my family or with my friends. And the few that there are would be invited anyway (to me... if letting their kid come to the wedding let's OOT friends and family be there, I'm all for it).

Now, there may be a chance some children come out of the woodwork but my stance on that is, if I didn't know they existed right now, then I don't care for them at the wedding...

We won't be having any kids at our wedding. The only exceptions will be for FHs brother who will be 17 and FHs 1st cousin who will be 16. We won't even be having a RB or FG because I know my other cousins will be asking if their child can be invited or be in the wedding and feelings will be hurt when we say no. I just can have lots of children from ages 1-7 at my wedding.

No kids are invited to ours. We were going to make the cut off at 13, but then decided to eliminate them because we are still having trouble cutting down the list. People understand that its expensvie and they wont be offended.

We are still deciding on this ... I don't really see the harm in inviting kids, although I understand that it brings a different atmosphere to the wedding when children are there... I will probably invite kids, and if the parents don't want to bring them it's up to them

This is a huge debate with me and FH. He wants no kids and I'm like well maybe some kids. Only kids of immediate family are coming to the wedding. first cousins kids or friends kids will not be allowed and i was thinking about putting Adult Reception on the invites. Oh also my godchildren are invited of course. I have 3 godchildren plus 2 more in april. How can I invited my godchildren's parents but not my godchildren. I can't but they are the only exception.

we are pretty much 100% set on no kids allowed... Although someone in my bridal party has kids and I love them -- I dont think it would be fair though to pick and choose who can bring their kids... so it most likely wont be anyones FH really wont budge on that! ---Maybe set an age limit though! I have some cousins who are young teenagers but can be interepreted as kids?
