What are you doing about work people?

Original post by leese

8 months ago it was so easy for me to tell someone 'just invite who you want' from work to the wedding.

But now that I need to finalize the guest list, I am so nervous!

Here are the options:

1. Just invite my two bosses (both men) and their spouses.

2. Invite 2 bosses plus my three secretaries (whom I am very friendly with - they know more about my life than my best friends!!! hahah) I would feel bad inviting the bosses and not the girls.

3. But then that leaves out 2 people in my immediate group. One I hate - and yes - I've always told people not to invite anyone they don't want to.... but I literally WORK WITH this one person and he is kinda powerful. But then.... there are others in the building that I like MORE.

I am definitely leaving this job within a year but still..... I have literally grown up here, fell in love with my FH while working here, became an executive here..... It's very emotional!!!

What would you do? And what are you doing?

Alright, I am an auditor and move around alot so I have no boss per say. However, there are several girls I have stayed close with through the years. Two are girls I actually hang out with outside of work but have never worked with and the other two are girls I've worked with but don't really hang out with outside of work but do at all work functions.

What should I do?
1) Invite just the girls I hang out with
2) Invite all the girls

BTW, I would have to invite all with dates!

I say invite two bosses and the secretary's.

I'm doing the same. I'm inviting my bosses and only some of the people I manage in my dept. not all, and out of 9 of those people, I'm leaving 3 out.

I can be leniant because I'm barely making my minimum anyway and so I say why not? might as well be people I see more than my family. however, I would not invite someone you can't stand. I'm the type of person who is very straight forward and have no problem with someone not liking me because I didn't invite them to my wedding. I can care less. JMO

This is such a tough situation. I think we are all going through it in one way or another. I'm kind of looking at it as an all or nothing proposistion. (IE: read B-list invites). My immediate supervisor (female) has no couth whatsoever. She sits with her legs WIDE open for all the world to see. She has been told numerous times that it is inappropriate, but does it anyway. She is a little too old, and a little too heavy to be wearing the kinds of clothes she wears to work (think short mini-skirt and skin tight tops). She is sweet, and has been my supervisor for 6 years (almost 8 by the time the wedding gets here). How on earth can I invite anyone from work without including her? But I really want to include my 'lunch buddies'.

FH and I work together so this is a lil tricky. I work in the office and he's in the warehouse, there are about 100 people employed at the company. We can't invite everyone and we don't really like a lot of them to be perfectly honest!!!

So we're just inviting our 2 big bosses (CEO & CFO) out of respect and their SOs. Then one woman is like my 'work mom' so we're gonna invite her too. Maybe a few more here or there depending on how things are when the invites go out but certainly not the ones that don't give us the time of day and think we don't notice.
