What are you doing thats 'fun' or 'different' for your wedding?

Original post by MrsHtobe

I really wanted to do something fun and a little different for our wedding. Like - I contemplated doing a cigar roller or a photobooth, but FH wasn't into either one.

Any suggestions?

Share your secret goodies or FM if you're scared of snoopers lol.

I just want to find one really fun idea.

We are having a handbell choir play during our mass. We are having a mass, which IMO, is something out of the ordinary. Most of the weddings we went to this summer were held in the RH.

We are having a piano/sax combo during the cocktail hour and dinner. We are also having 'signature drinks.'

We are also doing a big formal farewell with bubbles and sparklers. Most of the weddings this summer, our friends stayed and partied until the very end.

HTH!!

its your wedding so do it the way you want it done, everybody else with their opinions can do what they want at their own weddings.

Oh, we're also thinking of hiring an Elvis impersonator to come in and sing our, and the BP intro songs.

We thought it would be really cute, and fit in with the Vegas theme.

We'll see how much they cost, though.

My cousin THINKS he is Elvis and spends 99% of his time trying to impersonate him. He even went and got a wig w/side burns made. He sounds absolutely nothing like him. He has offered to sing at my wedding but I've already begged the DJ to BAN him from taking the mic. If you want, I can send him your way-for FREE!

we are having a bagpiper play our entire ceremony music including the wedding march.

does that count?

i want to do something cool and fun and different.

i might steal some ideas from this thread!

Oh I'm so jealous! FH and I wanted to do that so badly but FH's father was a police officer who died in the line of duty and the bag pipers remind his mom too much of the dad's funeral.

One of our friends is in a music program at his college...and he's writing and performing a song for our cake cutting.

We also have a string quartet where the age of the performers range from 16-21 hahaha. Child labor.

Again I'm soooo jealous of the creativity, I wish some of it would rub off on me

I feel exactly the same way!

My friend at work is a 'classically trained opera singer' so she is singing all of the ceremony music. Why she's a guidance counselor and not a famous aria is beyond me, she has an amazing voice.

Plus my 8 year old swears as he is walking me down the aisle he is going to make a sharp turn and we are going to run away from the ceremony.

We're having a mashed potatoe bar during CH.
You get your mashed potatoes served in an oversized martini glass, and like an icecream bar, you get to choose your toppings like gravy, shredded cheese, mushrooms, broccoli.

oops, one more thing!

when the officiant says 'you may now kiss your bride' we're going to do our secret hand shake and then kiss.

we made up this handshake when we were working together as camp counselors and couldn't kiss infront of the kids.
