My RH breaks down the centerpieces into small bouquets to each couple leaving the wedding has something to take with them.

We are not giving away our CPs to guests - we will have the DJ make an announcement, but at CPs are being donated to FH's grandma's nursing home.

I put a sticker under a chair at each table and then had an announcement made about it. Whoever had the sticker, got the CP.

Not one person took cp's home from my wedding , and the past few weddings I have been to , no one did either .

i def think the dollar game would work well

you can also try putting a lil card or sumthing underneath one seat at each table and then after dinner or whenever ur mc will tell everyone to check under their seat and whoever has the card gets to bring it home....itll be a surprise bc no one will kno they have a card under their seat!

I had my florist make up each centerpiece as 6 individually wrapped mini arrangements - but all in one vase so it looked like 1 big arrangement.. then at the end, SURPRISE every couple gets a bunch in addition to their favors! I had also purchased vase-shapes cello bags so the wet stems would be contained.

It was a big hit!

i don't really care so much about the CP giveaway. If nobody takes 'em, that's no big deal to me! lol. I told my DJ to do a game though. The one i thought was kinda cute is:
Musical Money-
One person at each table takes out a dollar bill. As the music begins, pass the dollar around the table, make the direction of the dollar bill change a few times, and then much like musical chairs, when the music stops, the action stops. Have the person holding the dollar bill stand up. DJ tells that standing person to give the dollar back to the person who took it out of their wallet, because THEY are the person who wins the centerpiece.

I didn't like it though how the DJ did it at my friend's wedding last month. They did the musical napkin deal and when the music stopped, the person left with it had to stand up and then PERFORM something special for the table. Ugh. Luckily it was my friend's boyfriend who had it and he's a pretty goofy guy, so he began pretending to strip. Other tables had the person just dancing - some got on the chairs. It really was funny -- but if it had been ME left with the napkin, i woulda been such a party pooper. No way I'd start dancing for people. blah. So i don't like the kind of giveaways where they make people uncomfortable

wow thats interesting. Its funny bc at ours you would think people never saw flowers lol they went like crazy. people also took my table numbers and also table runners lol. I also think some people took the hanging crystals from the cp's which they werent supposed to do lol. ANd the guys from pedestals had to stop people from taking the vases bc those go back to pedestals lol. Its so funny how people get with these things.

i can see that. At my friends wedding last month, the people who won it were kinda like 'Okay, what do I do with this?' I told them, 'Put in on your kitchen table, losa!' But yeah, not too many people care to take those home only because they usually end up becoming kickbacks that just take up space (even if they're beautiful, which these were!) At my other friends wedding this past summer, it was the same thing! A couple CPs were left over at the end of the day and people kept asking me if i wanted to take one home, but I really didn't need the 'clutter' in my house. That's why i'm not really expecting people to take mine either. I won't be insulted at all. People just don't 'need' extra stuff. lol.

you can ask your RH or dj to tape a penny under one chair from each table before the wedding and have the dj make an announcement that whoever has the penny under their chair gets the cp! simple enough!

For the longest time, we would look under our plate at weddings and if you had the note, it meant you took the CP home. You could do that and say something like, You've been randomly selected to take home the centerpiece...if you'd prefer, you can have someone else at the table have the honor. Or something like that. The DJ can mention it to direct people. Every wedding I've gone to, people are grabbing the flowers so to have some plan in place may help

yea i went to a wedding where they played the dollar game- you pass it around the table til the music stops and then that person gets it- it was cute.
Another wedding the DJ had something under one chair at each table and that person won it.
i like games!!! it makes it fun
