What are you doing to 'dress up' your placecard table? UPDATED with crazy idea!

I decided placecard holders weren't worth the extra expense....and besides, our placecards are pretty darn cool. But they're just printed on tent cards....and I feel like the table might need 'something.' I'd try to find some Yankee paraphenalia but I'm kind of stumped. I don't want to put anything valuable on the table like a signed baseball...

Any ideas? What are you doing to jazz it up? Thanks!

UPDATE:

I just had a flash of an idea. I was in my old room at my mom's, where two figurines remain. Yes, I have a Derek Jeter figure and a Babe Ruth bobblehead. At home, FH & I have another Jeter figure, and FH has a bobblehead of Roger Clemens. The Derek Jeter figures are actually quite nice- they're literally in 'action.'

Is that nuts? Cheesy? Silly?

Hmmm rose petals sounds nice but doesn't quite work with my theme! I bet yours will be lovely! My theme can be a real hassle sometimes!

Hmmm what could I scatter around the table? Broken peanut shells?

Darnit I'm stumped here!!

We are putting one of our favorite pictures of us on the placecard table with rose petals around the cards. Is there a cute picture that you have of you two at a Yankee's Game that would tie into the theme? Or what about old ticket stubs from the games you have been to?

Not that this will help you at all,
but we had a photo made with our names drawn in the sand.
So that will be on the table, with 2 adirondack chairs - and then the placecards attached to sand dollars.

I am going to put candles and laterns near the table .. Yeah I am not a big rose petal fan.. lol

How about laying down a jersey like a tablecloth, and then placing the cards on top of that ?

Or try to find some pinstripe material and make a runner for the table.

or maybe you can just go to the toystore and get baseball player (yankees of course) figurines and spread them out on the table with the cards

What about making a field? Yes I know its sooo wacky sounding lol but like create a baseball field. You could make it the centerpiece-use crafting sand and maybe wheatgrass whichis cheap and easy enough to use. Like maybe make the diamond and then lay it on the grass with a picture of you guys on the mound let's say and a little sign that says 'Home run!' or something cute and BB related. Then you could put striped placed cards all around or white ones with blue writing.

I hope I explained it well!

We are doing wheatgrass and putting a watering can in the center with flowers for our garden theme then buying die cut flowers and hand writing people's name son them so it looks liek the flowers are 'sprouting' up from the grass.

we have placecard holders, but our table names are italian wine regions, so we are adding a framed map of italy with all the regions labeled.

I purchased plain 8' letters to spell out 'Love' and I will be covering them with a decorative paper that matches our colors. I also bought glass mason jars, and I'm going to tie ribbon around the middle and drop a small pillar candle inside. I'm not sure if I'll do those on the placecard table, or the guestbook table.

How about printing out color pics of you with yankee players and FH with baseball players and framing them in baseball themed frames. You can photoshop yourselves into the pictures. Put boxes of cracker jack, boxes of popcorn, copies of ticket stubs.
