What are you getting your mother for Mother's day?

Mother's day is rolling right around the corner, and I'm really stumped on what to get her. She has everything and Jewelry, clothes and perfume..is something she has plenty of...unless it's some unique peice of jewelry....

Any ideas on what u're getting for ur mom girls?

My sister and I are planning on taking her for a picnic and spending the day with her. Since i moved in with the FH in Queens, she lives in Suffolk County, so she never really sees me. She only ever wants to spend time with us , so i am giving her the gift of my time and a wonderful picnic at a beautiful park! My sister and I may chip in for some jewelry as well.

My mother always told me that my time is worth more than any gift I could give her, so i will give her just that.

I feel the same way about my mom-she has everything!
I don't know if your mom is into seeing plays/musicals but I got my mom 2 tix for a broadway show. You could make a whole day out of it.

sounds familiar- I moved to Queens and mom in Suffolk too and all she wants is breakfast with us

This is a great idea...if I hadn't already done it! lol
I just did that for her last August for her Birthday.
But like the other poster said, I think i agree with her regarding giving her my Time. I've noticed she's been craving more of my time knowing that i'm soon leaving her :(

Hmm..maybe I could take her to the spa or something? What are the rest of u girls doing?

I am comming to her house to cook her breakfast while DH cleans the house for her. She also has everything she needs, but aside from this I am giving her money to get her hair done and a pair of new sneakers.

For example for my mom's b-day, DH drove to her job and surprised her with a beautiful bouquet of pink roses with white and pink lilies.

Do something special!

Aww the flower thing is really cute! If I cook for her and clean, she might have a heart attack and look out the window to see if pigs are flying!--I like that idea! lol

Thanks! it was the best! My mother is a pre-school teacher and all her co-workers where in on it, I told her co-teacher to make sure that when someone knocked on the classroom door my mother be the one to open it.
When he knocked on her classroom door she opened it and was so surprised she jumped and hughed him! (mom is 50 yrs old). I wish I could have been there (I was in school).

Trust me, sometimes people are more impressed with presents like this that may only cost $10 but show your parents how much they really mean to you.

I bought her a pair of shoes (suede green flats) and I'm considering getting her a pin (she's a BIG pin person) for her MOB dress/jacket.

I've heard about these. My cousin has a paper-weight one where i think the picture image is 3-D? It's pretty cool!

My mom is tough. Whenever she likes something she just buys it so there's never anything to get her. I usually try to find her some item of clothing, but so far I've got nothing. It s ucks because her birthday is 2 weeks before mother's day too!

Fh and I found this great pottery place in huntington. they have plain pottery such as plates, blowls, vases, mugs, serving patters ets and you can paint them however you want and then they put them in the kilm (or watever) so FH and I went and picked something out for our moms nd we are painting it for them... it thought it was a cute idea, kinda like those homemade gifts we used to make for our moms when we were little but only better now bc they can actually use them!

I found old 35mm Slides from the 1940's-1960's of my family at my grandpa's house. I had them put on a CD & then used an online publisher to create a book.....never seen before photos - it's going to be great! (167 photos I put in the book - 76 pages)

its called clay time its near the lowes theater in huntington town... im not sure if it would work for what you want. you hve to paint it with pottery paint and then they put it in the kilm or whatvever they do to it, but I would still check it out

My Mom is a PAIN to shop for so I am going with sentimentality. I am making her a new mousepad for work designed by me through photoshop and printed on shutterfly with a collage of my brother and I being our goofy selves and then taking her out to dinner. She likes pictures and I figure its mroe desk friendly than more framed photos.
