What are you spending on invitations and enclosures?
I just got off the phone with Kerri from envelopme.com.... soooooooooo nice! They do custom invitations (pocketfold invitations). Anyway... I don't know pricing, so does this seem reasonable?
I'm getting an ivory 7x7 square invitation (iridescent ivory border around the invite) that will be attached to the center of the burgundy pocketfold. There will be a translucent overlay attached to the invitation, with my FH's last intial 'engraved' on it, so you can see the invitation wording underneath, but you flip it up to see it better). The bottom flap of the pocketfold will contain the rsvp card, accomodation card, direction card and reception card.
I think it sounds so pretty... and the invites would come out to about 6.60 per invitation... $1149.90 total for the 175. Is that a lot?
Has anyone ever used envelopme.com?

IMO that is good price. I am only saying this because I spent a little bit more for 90 invitations.

We did 5x7 pocketfolds - ran us $300 going the DIY route for 100 invitations. We bought all the supplies from envelopme.com, stylishpaper.com and paper-source.com
Re: What are you spending on invitations and enclosures?
I spent $405 for 150 invitations. Invites were not something I wanted to spend a lot of money on, I found one that suited our tastes without breaking our bank.
Re: What are you spending on invitations and enclosures?
I spent almost $2000 for 200. You need to jump on that deal

you put it together yourself? wow... that's impressive. My invitation would look similar to yours... just a different color scheme, and the translucent overlap. Did you print them yourself, too?

The pocketfold and background cardstock is from envelopme.com, the cardstock is from paper-source.com, and the label closure is from stylishpaper.com
I did all the design and printing on my computer at home.
We wanted to spend the least on invitations as possible - so going the the DIY route was the best for us.

wow! I spent a little over $400 on my invites, but sadly it cost almost $200 to mail them (including RSVP stamp). They cost a lot more to post than the invitation dealer let on. One of the hidden costs of invites is what it costs to mail them, so get your dealer to be upfront about that if you can.

don't even get me started with what we spent...I just wanted someone to do it for us, but I wasn't that happy with how they came out....the proofing process at Kate's Paperie ***** ***

Holy crap! That's a lot to me only because that is one area where I want to cut back on. I don't want to spend more than $500 on my invites.

I got 100 5x7 pocketfolds for $500. That includes all the printing (thermography) and 2 enclosures. Also, just so you know, to send square invitaions will cost you more in postage than rectangular ones.

i think that's good for the number of invites you've got and the complexity of them.
We're spending $750 for 125.

Actually, that's not true. I took my sample invite to the post office, because the salesperson at Lion in the Sun told me that, and asked. If your mail weighs in at the 39 cent postage rate but is oversized (square) they will charge more - however if your invite after stuffing everything in it weighs in at the 63 cent postage rate (or higher) there is NO extra charge for the size. As we all know, fully stuffed wedding invites cost 63 cents to mail.

Sounds like a decent price, we are doing pocketfolds aslo, with each guest name & address printed on outer envelope, our return address printed on the rsvp envelope. We paid $1,000 for 150 invites.
I thought about going the DIY route, but who am I kidding I'm not that crafty. So I figure it would turn out better to have them professionally done, plus I have enough on my plate as it is.

OH MY GOD - I had no idea anyone spent in the thousands on invites. That is one area I am majorly cutting back on....I just think money is better spent in other areas, IMO. They end up in the garbage anyway : ) Thank god my friend is a graphic artist and is designing and making them for us!

Scary, but true, they can cost more. Mine were $1.06 fully stuffed. However, my invite was on a thick card and the enclosures were on heavy paper. They sure were beautiful, but we paid dearly for it when it came to postage.

I agree that it can get pricey, but we didn't really sacrifice anything else, we still have gotten everything else we wanted so far. Plus I really wanted an invitation that I would love, and our Photographer is having one of our actual invitation mounted into our Wedding Album, so I really want it to be nice.
