I'm not sure if this was a topic discussed in the past, if it is sorry for the repeat, but I wanted to see what you guys thought about this.
FH and I went to see the church today. The secretary at the church asked us what I wanted to walk down the aisle to? I said the usual 'here comes the bride' tune. She said that most brides are using different songs and she wanted to make sure this is what I wanted.
What is your ceremony music???

I love Pachelbel Canon in D. I heard the royal brass play it with the organist at another wedding and got goose bumps. I just love that song. That is probably what I am going with.

Probably the traditional here comes the bride. Although I love Canon in D I think that will be for my bridesmaids. Although I am not sure this is definite.

FH and I are not real classical music people - we are having all contemporary music arranged for 3 of our friends who are singers to perform.
This is one thing I am so excited for!!

Yes! Three people will sing in 3 part harmony - 3 of my best friends none the less, so it should be very special.
Awesome is a word I actually use often - something I picked up from FH (He was a teen in the 80's and never let it go.)
Tubular is another story...I prefer BODACIOUS.

not quite sure about the bridal party processional yet, but i will be walking to Bach prelude in C from the Well-tempered clavichord. it is actually the background music to the ave maria by charles gounod, which is just about my favorite piece in the whole wide world. i actually would want an instrument playing gounod's melody, but that might be a bit too religious for my interfaith ceremony...

Ok, a lot of ppl think I'm crazy, but once they hear it they are like oh my g-d thats perfect, I think the girls are going to walk down to the same song, but there is one point that the song just becomes majorly powerful that it takes your breath away. It's the theme to love story....its a very haunting song....I was thinking to keep looping it for everyone walking down on my side, and then have the quartet just go crazy with my part..OR I might have the girls walk down to Andrea Boccellis' time to say goodbye, and then me walk down to the one part in the Love Story Theme...

This is what I want the recessional to be, I just have to check that my harpist knows it.
Probably the traditional here comes the bride. Although I love Canon in D I think that will be for my bridesmaids. Although I am not sure this is definite.

my FH came up to me once a while ago and dragged me to the computer he played a Sigur Ros song and said 'this is what youre walking down the aisle to' ... i think he forgot all about it. So did I til you posted this.... hmm..

I was really really torn when he broke you know -- you want artists to have success but it is also so cool to love them as part of a really small group. Felt the same way when Lyle Lovett got big -- his fan base was so cool and his music so ahead of its time that I was hooked (even got me into my current work) and then he got so big and like you are just lucky to get to see him at a huge arena.
