What are your BM paying for and how much?

I'm having problems with my BP and what to do about their hair costs.

We have to start getting ready at about 5 am and we have a tight schedule. The girls might stay with me in my hotel suite the night before for a sleepover and to make sure that everyone is on time. (esp if there's snow!) Te only problem is the BP are mainly Queens/Brooklyn girls and they aren't used to paying 60-70 for updos. I want to cover some of their costs, and wanted to cover their makeup esp bc some are non-makeup wearing people but FH and I want to keep costs down. I was thinking of asking for 60 from them and to have them cover their tips and I cover the rest for hair and makeup...

What are you covering for your BP and how much, if anything are they paying? What about girls with large BP- 8 people or so- like mine?

They are paying for everything themselves. They are not required to get their hair done professionally, but all are. I think I am the only one getting my makeup done professionally.

I paid for mine when I was in their BP, so it's just right, if I could afford it great, but I can't

I'm paying for hair and makeup. It's what I wanted to do. I have a couple that live out of town, and they'll be flying in at their expense, plus cost of dresses, shoes, etc., and we'll all be staying at a hotel for two nights which they are paying for.

Since my MOH is getting married in July and they are paying for everything themselves - I'm paying for her dress. My bridesmaid is paying on her own for the dress and my jr. bridesmaid is only 13...so I think I'll pay or my mom will pay for hers. It's my cousin and her family doesn't have the money to spend on this. I think the hair for the older girls will be up to them and again, my cousin I'll pay for. I doubt they'll have their make-up done.

Actually, neither of mine had their hair or makeup done, and they still looked great. I didn't even tell them which dress to get, just the color, b/c there was only 2 of them...

i am paying for their hair. they will do their own makeup and pay for their dresses and hotels.

I will pay for hair and make up for my BMs. I only have 2 so it's not bad at all.

I am not paying for anything, as much as I would love to, I just can't afford it. It is up to them whether or not they want to do hair and makeup professionally, or on their own.

same here. i'm paying for this whole wedding, i can't afford that as well

I'm not requiring anything. My 2 MOH are planning on doing their own hair- I just know the other 6 girls want to get their hair done and it seems to be $75 at the lowest end for that. I'm not even sure I'll like the salon I have reserved yet.

I'm too busy right now to do multiple trials and the only sure bet I know is Maximus- for early morning they want $85 and a 35% service fee - but they are willing to come to the hotel. I'm free in Jan but I have to have this settled by then!

I wanted them to have their makup done but I was going to pay for that (as it would be my request) but I don't know about that right now!

I'm just going to have to find the best deal for them and hope that if they do go to their own person that they are on time!!

I'm paying for hair as part of their BM gifts. I took a poll and asked if they would prefer a more elaborate gift and pay for their own hair or a smaller gift with hair included. they voted hair included, less ...

This is a sore spot for me: I was in a friend's wedding and paid $225 for the dress $80 something for the shoes, and she MADE all of us get our hair and makeup done at her salon for $200. (And here's why I walked out of there almost crying- they didn't do anything I couldn't have done myself) She never specified if we should have our hair up or down, and thank God she didn't tell them what makeup colors to use on all of us. But we looked clownish anyway So, I don't know what to do. I would love to pay for the girls hair and makeup as a thank you, if I could afford it, but I trust them to take care of it on their own.

I'm paying for hair and makeup for my girls because I'm making it mandatory that everyone be professionally taken care of for the day. But it will be part of their present along with a small token of my appreciation. Maybe you could do that and save money on the BP gifts.

They will be paying for their own. I think that is a responsiblity you know you have to cover when you accept. I've always paid for my own. I think it nice if you have the extra money to pay for them. But not necessary!

I would agree if it wasn't early morning...if time weren't an issued I'd book a place and make it an option. Then I could cover their makup without a problem- even Maximus!

Time is money and we don't have a lot of either! I'll talk to some of the girls when we go to look at BM dresses for my BM wedding...
