I want my FH and his guys to wear suits instead of tuxes. FH LOVES his 3 piece suit that he wears to his Ambulance Company dinners and i want him to be comfortable.
What are you guys going to wear? And where are you going to rent/buy?

my guys are wearing light gray tuxes. but my FH is going to buy the pants and jacket. once you take the vest out of the picture, its a formal gray suit- which he needs!

FH is very concerned about being hot...and our august 5th wedding doesn't help the situation lol. I think they're gonna do grey as well, we were planning on having them rent. I've heard recently though that it may cost just as much for the guys to buy nice suits as it does to rent a tux.

this is true.
my FH just went to men's warehouse today to buy a suit for a wedding he's in and it was $200 WITHOUT alterations. and it was basically just a cheap suit - not buying a joseph abboud or anything!

have any of you heard of renting a suit? obviously renting a tux is more common but ive never heard of anyone renting a suit.

I think you can rent suits at the smaller tux shops (like not a Men's Warehouse)... FH wants to do charcoal color suits and since they're not in MW, we have to look elsewhere... LMK if you find anything similar and I'll do the same

agreed - you can get a tux at a place like MW or Sims for not much more than renting

i was hoping MW would be able to rent out suits just because we have a groomsman who lives in TX and i want him to be able to do everything there at his convenience. hmm i'll have to get FH on this mission asap :)

FH is having his guys wear tan suits. We are renting them from Mur-Lees in Lynbrook. You can absolutely rent suits from places, I'm sure Mens Wearhouse. You can also try Jims Formal wear online to find a suit you like and they will tell you what stores carry it. HTH!

FH and GM are renting tuxes from the same place I got my dress and they end up getting 2 free rentals and it only cost like $90 not expensive at all. The GM will be wearing purple vests to match the girls. FH wants to wear black on black like johnny cash...i dunno...its what he wants

Suits are a great choice, particularly since your wedding is in the afternoon.
I tend to think of 3-piece suits as a little 'business-y', particularly if it is a pinstripe suit, but it's probably ok.

Originally it was going to suits but now the guys talked and they are just doing tuxes. I could care less - that's FH's department.
