he is gonna pull Osama out of his little Texan behind.
Yep. He's going to suddenly be found right around election day. Hopefully it's not October 24th though!

Hopefully it will be too late for him.
I'm a registered republican, and I will be campaigning for Kerry .. I am actually volunteering.
I think this is important because people have NO IDEA what is going on in their government and really have no idea what is going on with their money, with their taxes and with the services they expect to receive- i think this is VERY important to let them know.

How are we to be sure Kerry can fix these issues that sassy has brought up ?? I don't think we can be sure... Why because he says so ? I mean don't get me wrong he probably has great idea and motive but persoanlly I think he is weak and that fact of tha matter is I think he will take focus off the military and where are we left back at the begining 9/11 picking up the pieces once again. Personally I don't think Kerry can do it.

Re: What are your thoughts on
think that BUsh is grasping for straws. He needs to leave 9/11 and go find something else
I agree...bc/ when you think about it...what else does he have to run on? He can't run on jobs...he lost too many of them. Can't run on the success in the 'war on terror' ....had not gotten BinLaden and Iraq is a mess, and we never found WMD there. How about SS or medicare? Well AARP members burning thier membership cards would not make a good ad..neither would greenspan saying to raise the age of retirement and SS eligability.... Taxes...yeah maybe but with overinflated spending and a gigantic defecit, that turned out not to do what it was supposed to....see... its NOT 'trickling down' at least not to me! so whats left??9-11 9-11 9-11. God bless america...thats about all he has left. Oh yea, that and steroids and gay marriage....b/c if we don't stop Gary and Joe from marrying each other...my health care costs will go through the roof, I will pay 2$ a gallon for gas, and my job will be in danger of being outsouced to another country...OH WIAT...Im sorry, thats already happening! my bad....I'll just remember who led us through 9-11...

Good point, DJkatscan. I think it's disgusting that he's using 9/11 for campaign purposes. It just reaffirms my own beliefs about Bush. We are doomed if that man is re-elected.

Re: What are your thoughts on
I think those of you who think 9/11 is over are mistaken. Bush is still leading us through the repercussions of that day - the war on terror.
Quote from Bush's speech 9/20/01:
Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen.
Those of you who say 'Iraq is a mess' are being impatient. How long do you think it will take to rebuild a country? How about the fact that Saddam has been caught, and Uday and Qusay are dead?
Another Bush quote:
I will not forget this wound to our country or those who inflicted it. I will not yield; I will not rest; I will not relent in waging this struggle for freedom and security for the American people.
I think this is what Bush is trying to convey by using the 9/11 images in his ads. He wants us to know that he is just as angry today as he was that day. JMO

I dont think they were meant to be offensive in any which way I think they were meant to be patriotic, reflecting back to a time when we as american came together. why shouldn't he use that as his campaign he lived it just as much as we did and I am sure he was just as hurt. If he was slandering KERRY in that ad then I can see it as exploiting but in my opinion I find the ads tactful.
However, W. Bush could have used other images, maybe images of speeches he gave with people clapping, showing support, etc rather than showing views of the tragedy. That way, it would be a show of how people have supported him rather than a show of 'look what happened and can happen again if you don't vote for me' ...which is the feeling I think (IMO) he is going for.
I also read today that he has said in the past he would NOT do the sort of thing he is doing now. But I don't know when he said that so I can't say for sure he's backpeddling.

Well they are not the ones who ordered a plane to be flown into the twin towers are they? People that stlll beleive that Iraq and 9-11 are connected are so misinformed!
I will not forget this wound to our country or those who inflicted it. I will not yield; I will not rest; I will not relent in waging this struggle for freedom and security for the American people.
Ummmm that would be al qaida...not Iraq! And WE invaded Iraq...and left the country so insecure that any old terrorist can get in there and bomb whatever they want! We created a terrorist state. Yes there was a dictator state there before, but hey I don't remember any Iraqies being on any of the hijaked planes. SO now terrosists can get in from the non secuured borders and incite a civil war...thats not a mess?

1. No, no one is sure that Kerry can 'fix' these issues. The issues that Sassy refers too are all things that were perpetrated by Bush. Since I do not have faith that Bush can remain President without continuing to run this country into the ground I will pass the tourch to Kerry. Not because he says so, but because I am an independent free-thinking person who can decide for herself.
2. Kerry is an ACTUAL VETERAN of Vietnam. I think that he actually understands the termoil and devastation of war first hand. I believe that he is the most capable to lead our military and bring our soilders home as quickly and safely as possible.
3. As far as taking focus off the military taking us back to 9/11. That is exactly what Bush wants you to think. What has our military effort done to protect us? We caught Saddam. Great he is a horrilble human being, but he is not the one responsible for 9/11. IMO we are no safer now then we were before 9/11.
I believe that Bush has had his turn. I think that he started out in a difficlut and vunerable time for this country. He took advantage of our mindset and led us down an extremely dangerous road. He is continuing to try and keep people in that fragile mindset by constintly refering to 9/11. Alot of other things are going on in this country. Things that are challenging what our whole country was founded upon. These are the issues I want to see addressed. I refuse to let 9/11 and Bush's explotation of that horrile time in America hold me hostage any longer. I want to know about my everyday quality of life.
How about eliminating the Taliban in Afghanistan? How dare you say those men and women in the Middle East are not protecting you and your freedom to live your 'everyday life'.

Does anyone else find it ironic that he's using these images that have special meaning to all New Yorkers and yet most political analylists don't expect him to win NY.
Anyone else see this as half-*ssed.

Re: What are your thoughts on
For PeeWee (this is VERY long):
How John Kerry can Fix the problems that Bush has started:
1) repeal the Bush tax cuts that were given to the richest members of society (i.e. those making $1 Million per year an up):
Meanwhile, wealthy Americans have seen a sharp drop in their tax burden. The top tax rate -- the income-tax rate on the highest bracket -- is now 35 percent, half what it was in the 1970's. With the exception of a brief period between 1988 and 1993, that's the lowest rate since 1932. Other taxes that, directly or indirectly, bear mainly on the very affluent have also been cut sharply. The effective tax rate on corporate profits has been cut in half since the 1960's. The 2001 tax cut phases out the inheritance tax, which is overwhelmingly a tax on the very wealthy: in 1999, only 2 percent of estates paid any tax, and half the tax was paid by only 3,300 estates worth more than $5 million. The 2003 tax act sharply cuts taxes on dividend income, another boon to the very well off. By the time the Bush tax cuts have taken full effect, people with really high incomes will face their lowest average tax rate since the Hoover administration.
2) stop using the social security surplus (which there is one- but Bush and Greenspan don't want you to know that) to fund tax cuts mentioned in #1
3) keep newly revised tax brackets for poorest americans in place
4) make corporations recognize stock options as a COST/LIABILITY (right now they aren't counted as an expense- and this causes a bunch of problems, most obvious is all of the accounting fraud).
5) go after those corporations seeking tax shelters in countries like Bermuda. we need that revenue.
6)
The fact is: you've been duped. Duped into thinking that George Bush is the only President that would have gone into Afghanistan after 9/11.. give me a break. I doubt ANY President elected here on out would EVER reduce national security- that is an obvious necessity.
