I stand corrected. I reread it more carefully and I do see some specific things Kerry plans to do. Not saying I agree they will work, however, it is a plan. My reading comprehension skills left me for a minute. Been a long day...

It's been a long WEEK... Thankfully, it is finally over!

And I am not asking you to agree with me. My intent was not to try to change your mind, but just to answer your question.

I think some would disagree. Maybe if Clinton hadn't been so busy with Monica, and his impeachment, he would have been able to prevent 9/11. Maybe he would have actually taken Bin Laden when given the chance. Maybe he would have investigated the USS Cole bombing a bit more...

Well it was the repubs impeaching...and when Clinton tried to bomb OSAMA...the repubs were crying WAG THE DOG...so whats good for the goose is not for the gander. Would you rather screw an intern or screw the country?

We attacked a country that did not attack us! Baby Bush is trying to make his Daddy proud. We got mad that Iraq would not allow the UN inspectors do their jobs, yet we also ignored the UN!

Bush did not give the promised $ to NY. It was cut, cut, cut.

I don't expect Iraq to be a healed nation for years BUT our nation needs a leader too. We have hungry, homeless children here that need aid. We have working poor. We have schools that are overcrowded, dangerous, under funded.

Why rebuild Iraq when we ignored Bosnia- where women and young girls were being raped and tortured each day. I read the stats are 90% of all women over 12 where raped during that War- some in front of their fathers!!! Did we rush in? nope. no oil in that country.

Sorry Daddy Bush was the one training and giving weapons to Al Quida to help them fight the Russians! Clinton was not in office during that time.

And Clinton did not use the Oklahoma City bombing in his ads!

Also LOTs of people hate America, not just Bin Laden. 9/11 had hundreds of people involved not only Bin Laden. This is not a one presidency problem....American has been getting involved in places we shouldn't for A LONG TIME.

think that BUsh is grasping for straws. He needs to leave 9/11 and go find something else

I agree...bc/ when you think about it...what else does he have to run on? He can't run on jobs...he lost too many of them.
Can't run on the success in the 'war on terror' ....had not gotten BinLaden and Iraq is a mess, and we never found WMD there.
How about SS or medicare? Well AARP members burning thier membership cards would not make a good ad..neither would greenspan saying to raise the age of retirement and SS eligability....
Taxes...yeah maybe but with overinflated spending and a gigantic defecit, that turned out not to do what it was supposed to....see... its NOT 'trickling down' at least not to me!
so whats left??9-11 9-11 9-11. God bless america...thats about all he has left. Oh yea, that and steroids and gay marriage....b/c if we don't stop Gary and Joe from marrying each other...my health care costs will go through the roof, I will pay 2$ a gallon for gas, and my job will be in danger of being outsouced to another country...OH WIAT...Im sorry, thats already happening! my bad....I'll just remember who led us through 9-11...

OMG, I am LMAO b/c you hit the nail on the head when it comes to Bush's campaign 'predicament!' Your tongue-in-cheek analysis really tickled my funny bone today!

Although we live in a Capitalist society- it is a mixed Capitalist society. Granted- we don't have as many 'social' benefits as say those in Germany and France- but the problem is having a pure Capitalist 'Free Market' truely favors the 1% of people at the top- not the rest at the bottom. And although I am not a socialist, I do think some type of mixed economy (such as FDR economy that got us out of the depression) is what is needed in this country.... After WWII this country had it's most amazing growth period ever, it was a time when the government basically created the middle class- gave us low interest loans to buy houses (a la Levittown) start business and go back to school- we had TONS of public works and newly created social security & medicare.. it's what made us a great society.. and there is NO doubt that George Bush and Karl Rove want to destroy everything that FDR has done for this country.

pure capitalism will never work...unless all CEOs act like Andrew Crnegie and actually give back to society...

pure communism will never work...b/c there is always some power hungry person out there.

even China realizes that there is a need for a mixed economy...

On the other hand, do you check the labels of all the clothing you purchase to see if it's American made? If more Americans would only buy American goods, this wouldn't be a problem - so don't lay the blame on government and companies sending work overseas if you're going to buy the product. You do have the freedom to choose.

I haven't read the continuation of this thread yet. But I just wanted to say that I check labels and purchase as many items that are made in the USA as I possibly can.
I'm not 'laying blame' on anyone.
