bigger busted or broader shoulders

but sometimes other types look good too- depends on the halter...

Small waist, definately, especially if there is a defined waist on the dress. I actually have a small bust, but Halters look the best on me.... I however, have shoulders like a line backer, so it balances it out.

Hourglass shapes usually look the best in halters.

I am big busted and tried on a halter and honestly it wasnt the best experience of a dress. My bust kept popping out and the strap was irrating my neck. The sample was even my size, but the style just didnt work with my body type.

Anyone with a big bust is probably not going to be happy in a halter, I had the same problem with popping out the sides. I did notice that people with bigger arms look better in halters though. I agree with hourglass figure theory, too.

I am very big busted and imo..the halter dress definately looked the best on me. Originally I had wanted something with sleeves but all the dresses looked horrible on me. I have curves, probably too many of them and the halter dress fit me just right. Once it was altered, it was gorgeous. Im not bragging or anything but it fit me perfectly..perfect for my figure.

So in my opinion, yes it is good for 'bustier' ladies with a fuller figure..but I am sure it would look just as good on another type.

IMO, most girls look great in halter style gowns. I'm broad shouldered and slightly small busted, and they look great. They also look good on thin women, big busted women, short women, and heavy women! I don't like really, really low backs on very out of shape women, personally, but not all halters have plunging backs.
