What can I do...

I finally found a wedding dress that I absolutly love but the dress has a sweep train...I always wanted a long train. Has any body heard of the designer actually adding a longer train to a dress?

Re: What can I do...

I was in the same situation. I loved the dress but it had a small train. I always wanted a long train. I added a foot to my train! I didn't want to go too long for fear it would alter the style too much.

I went for my first fitting a month ago and it was great! I loved it. The only little issue that arose was the bustle. The fabric is very delicate and the extra length made it hard to bustle. We tried about 4 different ways before we found one that worked. They had to do a double bustle. Not sure how much was the extra length and how much was the material that caused the difficulty.

I know the more expensive designers DEFINITELY will do this.

PS I think they charged me about $250 more for the additional foot on the train. Not sure if that is a factor for you.

Re: What can I do...

Just ask. I am sure they can figure out something for you. Most designers, especially the higher-end ones, will do a lot of custom work for your gown.
