What color bra to wear under an ivory gown?

What color undergarments should I wear underneath my ivory gown? I think white would look prettier, but will it show through my gown? Is it best to just wear nude? (I'm planning on wearing a long line bra).

I don't think that it will show though at all. What type of material is your dress?

Re: What color bra to wear under an ivory gown?

Here is a pick- but mine will be in ivory. I am thinking I will be OK on the top because of all of the beading. But I'm a little nervous about the bottom. Since its a sheath, I would love to wear spanx or a shaping slip. The hope the nude wont show through! Do they even sell white or ivory spanx?

I am having a problem uploading the pic- it is the pronovias 'Halar'. I pasted a link to a pic.

nude is always safe.
if the dress isn't see through, white should be fine though

Re: What color bra to wear under an ivory gown?

Nude is always the safest choice! It's supposed to look like your own skin, so if it shows through, you won't notice it. I once wore a white bra under a white dress thinking that was the thing to do, but you could see through the dress slightly in the back and you could see my bra! Had I worn nude, it wouldn't have been as obvious. I guess with a long line it won't be as obvious.

RE:What color bra to wear under an ivory gown?

Hi all,  I'm presuming it needs to be red as well but I dont want to wear a basque or corset, probably just a strapless bra but I'm never going to be able to find a red one!

I think Nude will not show through the dress, though for a wedding dress that's unlikely to be an issue. Currently Checking out the tips in this article.

When we're shooting stuff in the studio we tend to stick to nude, because there's no chance of any show through with the clothes. But then your wedding dress is usually quite thick, so that's not normally an issue.

So there is no chance it will peak out over the top. If anyone's wedding dress is well fitted, you won't need one (but make sure your dress doesn't chafe!) .What do you think?
