What did you buy that you never used...

What did you buy that you never used...

on your wedding day?

I realize I spent a lot of money on quite a few things that just never made the cut. Just wondering if that was true for some of you as well.

i.e bought an arch with tons of fake flowers and planned to decorate it. But, where did I plan to use it? No clue.

Bought bridal lights to decorate, but ended up hiring a decorator.

Bought candle holders for unity candle, but the church ended up providing one.

Got 'bridal slippers' as a gift, but forgot to put them on during the reception.

Bought a second veil, but ended up not wearing that either.

Bought a signing frame for guests, but my sister ended up buying me one for me as a surprise (this one was much better than what I had) so I never used it.

Bought two different bustiers to wear with my dress and of course could only wear one that day. The one I didn't wear is no where to be found!

Anyone else waste their money like this?

I bought white flip flops that I never wore b/c I bought Chinese slippers instead. but they were only $4, so no biggie.

I bought table numbers w/our monogram and didn't like them, so I didn't use those.

I think that's about it. not too bad!

I bought tulle to do favors that I wound up not having.

A bridal purse - under $30... that's pretty much it!

I bought 2 different corset things but I returned one a week before my wedding

the other thing was a tiara, I did not decide what I wanted for my hair until the day of the wedding and so I brought both so it is in 'staged' photos but I did not wear it. I wore it for halloween. I will save if for a child to use one day for a future dress up day.

Never used a hair clip I bought, but it was just in case the flowers were not-so-hot, and the flowers for my hair turned out fine.

Bought/gifted three planners (books not people-I should have been so lucky! haha) but I only used one

A bridal corset thing...it's still in my drawer with all the tags on

That's all I could think of right now...

3 Tiaras, never returned any, used one for ceremony ended up taking it off at reception because it annoyed me.

2 crinolins, only used one and never bothered to return the first one.

3 pairs of shoes (at least was able to give one pair away)

Bridal purse

2 sets of toasting flutes

Bell kissing cards (never used gave away)

3 flowergirl tiaras, forgot them at home, only remembered the crown of flowers for the littliest flowergirl.

4 extra flowergirl baskets, never returned 1st set after finding something i liked better.
(Gave them to the flowergirls after the wedding just to play with.

Fancy bridal stockings, ended up not using them.

Tons of fake rose petals - decided to use real ones a few days before wedding.

Floating candles and bowls for the cocktail hour, useless hall already had their own.

Thats about it, i think.

ETA: Guest book, used sign in board instead
and 4 different garters couldnt make up my mind.

Some tulle, though that was cheap. Also a calligraphy pen which didn't work as well as I would have liked.

An extra engagement photo (it was out of our package). We never did give it to anyone, and we have enough of our own.

I also bought bags to use as gift bags for the OOT guests, but I never got around to buying stuff to put in them, so I have them. That wasn't bad though--they're plain blue bags I can use for anything.

It's so easy to waste money on things you really think you will need and never wind up using.

I bought a shawl ( who knew 11/4 it would be 70 out)
I had pillows for the ring bearers also and the groomsmen forgot to bring them..

All I can think of is I bought a crinoline that didn't wind up being enough poof for my dress so I had to buy another one.

I impulsively bought an extra veil three weeks before the wedding which I never wore.

A TON of navy and white christmas ball ornaments (when I thought we were having a christmas favor tree)

I bought 2 white purses because I was worried the first one was not going to be big enough. My mom ended up using the extra so that was not too bad.

Oh, I forgot I made about 100 petal cones that were never used
