my hall removed the tax once we offered to pay in cash (I will admit this was quite difficult to achieve but we did it!). we also got a mashed potato bar tossed in as well as a few extra items for our dessert hour!!! :)

I was told the same thing by Fox Hollow about the ice scuplture and wine bottles on the table.. until I realized it's really all included and they offer that to everyone, they just tell you that it's 'complementary'

Yes I figured that but I never expected to have any of those things so it's nice to have. I also didn't ask for the other add ons they just threw that in.

I think it is unrealistic to EXPECT that they will throw in something. If they do, it's nice, but you can't go in expecting it or you will be disappointed.

I would call and find out if they could---you dont know if you dont ask unfortunately as i found out. Most of the lessings places are flexible with adding or 'throwing in'--plus when I went to look at Three Village Inn, they were having a special 2 for 12 added on to your cocktail hour--or something like that. If I find the info I will def forward it to you.
Not to sour anyone's experience but let's be honest, this is a business (to them at least) and there is room for negotiation, maybe even a little haggling so, No I don't think it is too much to expect A LITTLE SOMETHING! But as someone else said, there are trade off's with every venue.

Our RH was amazing! We didn't ask for anything and we got a Hospitality Hour with passed appetizers and open bar so that our guests don't have to go home in between the church and the CH, a Viennese (spelling?) Hour and we basically get to design our own menu. They also gave us ice sculptures, fruit carvings, a bar and CH set up in the Bridal Suite and a bunch of other stuff I never expected. Such a nice surprise!

We have so much included I didn't feel the need to ask for anything else. But it never hurts to ask and see if they'll budge on something.

I just spoke to them, they are going to charge me the sun price for a Fri! that faces me 700 so I can look at it as they have me the ceremony space for free! and chocolate fountain or something equal, cotton candy machine ice cream Sunday bar or assorted cakes. off I could go with another thing or 2 with cocktail hour. oh snd chicken fingers andfries for kids and a bottle of gegrey goose for fh bc he doesn't like absolute abd that is what comes with it! I want a bottle of moscato for Mr too and I forgot to ask but that's not gonna b a problem I'm sure!every place told is a bottle for each of its is ok and I drink the cheap wine! it will be less then $10 lol! I feel better! tasting food next Friday If both parents can make it!

The places I looked at had different pricing also with Friday being more expensive than Sunday
I'm happy I got something! and money off is always a plus! and when I first looked su this place I was going to get Sun price for Fri somehow if they would do no tax for cash! so I'm happy! and by taking to the owner I learned the menu isn't a sweet structure like I thought, I have do many options of what I can have where and what can replace something else!! I'm so excited I wanna eat and sign and be down shopping for RH!!!!

We got a few things thrown in for a March wedding-I can't even remember what they were lol but we def got a few items.

From the original price they quoted us we talked it down, plus we got a Slider Bar and a tropical bar for the CH. We ended up changing our date to October which is more expensive than May(our original month) but they kept the price the same for us. We switched from the Tropical bar to an Oktoberfest bar and they charged us less than half of the price per person - normally it's 8 a head, but they minused out 4 for switching out the Trop bar and then took another dollar off. We also got passed martinis at CH and cookies and fruit on the tables after dinner :)
