what did your RH throw in when you booked?

Original post by xBudgetBridex

the place I'm looking at offered a chocolate fountain! I thought that was a joke!
am I being unrealistic in expecting something more since they won't take money off?

From the original price they quoted us we talked it down, plus we got a Slider Bar and a tropical bar for the CH. We ended up changing our date to October which is more expensive than May(our original month) but they kept the price the same for us. We switched from the Tropical bar to an Oktoberfest bar and they charged us less than half of the price per person - normally it's 8 a head, but they minused out 4 for switching out the Trop bar and then took another dollar off. We also got passed martinis at CH and cookies and fruit on the tables after dinner :)

That amazing!!! I love WM! Isnt that weird? Why is OCT more expensive them May? Ive noticed a lot of venues are still quoting pretty high up there for October. sheesh.

we had the seafood station and ceviche station thrown in. i also added the new england station later on (crab cakes made to order and some other stuff) at a good discount. i forgot what else. they were pretty good but we were getting married in march and we booked like 4 months before hand so they were pretty sure they weren't going to be able to book any other 200+ person weddings so close to the date. they were great!

that's amazing! my place told me no to seafood! but I'm sure your right booking on such short notice would def help get more stuff! I think the money off I got us huge, bc from I can tell most places are willing to throw you some 'free' stuff not it ends up being included our being the craziest thing they can give you and they never want to partywith actual money!

My place threw in a Martini Bar with a show. They usually charge about $500 for this but when booking (2 years ago) they never mentioned the price just told us about the Martini Bar. So recently when I went there to make final decisions they mentioned if we wanted the martini Bar it would now be only $300 extra. So I merely told them that when booking you told us it was included and didn't mention anything about paying extra. And they didnt'write it in the contract like they did for the chocolate fountain being $3 pp extra. So they said okay and are giving us the Martini Bar. I am excited because now I get my signature drinks!

yep, i also got money off from the first price they told us but again, on such short notice you can do a lot. the royalton was giving us a phenomenal deal with tons thrown in. we totally would have had the wedding there but for the fact that we were having over 200 and lots of people told me over 200 would be tight for the space.

good for you for asking and getting something though! you don't ask you don't get;) at the end of the day, they are running a business and you are a customer.

I kinda wanted a signature drink too but I'm ok with just giving a cute name to a common drink bci can't get everything I want! congrats though that sounds like it's going to be very cool!
