Original post by Tetelove

MY FIANCEE AND I HAVE LOOKED AT A TON OF PLACES, BUT WE ARE NOT SURE WHICH PLACE TO BOOK BECAUSE OF A NUMBER OF DIIFFERENT FACTORS WITH EACH PLACE. I WOULD LOVE ANY COMMENTS (GOOD OR BAD) ABOUT THE THREE PLACES LISTED ABOVE.ALSO SOME INSIGHT ON YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BALLROOMS/ PROPERTY OF EACH PROPERTY. IN ADVANCE....THANK YOU.

When I was booking, Swan Club was all booked up so I didnt even go to look at it but my sis is getting married and is going to look at this place this weekend.
I had my wedding at CB and i absoultely it, its compltely diff from fox hollow (even though its the same owner)
CB is more modern, art-deco look - escp wtih their backyard looking like a miami night club scene :) and fox hollow is more of a country club, cozy look.

When I walked into CB I knew that it was it, i just loved it, i had the normandy room where you come out of the floor, great food, great service, i would have made the same decision in a hearbeat.

i did not see swan club, but saw CB and booked Fox Hollow. I think its a matter of personal taste. i have heard great things about CB but for me, personally, the art deco style wasn't for me. I liked FH's decor and the price was great for what i was getting.

I got married at SC and loved it!! i wanted somewhere that was private ( not on a main road) , and that was a little less modern and more charming. That being said, the FH and CB are both awesome venues. i have been to both and had a great time. This one is a tough choice. Good luck!

I looked at Fox Hollow and CB...between the two I chose CB for the following:

the amount of food was great, and the choices that they give you at the cocktail hour (different theme stations- I really liked) I loved the art deco look of the place. I liked the entrance and I liked the rooms. I felt they were spacious and the ceilings were high. I liked that although it is on a main road that people knew where it was and its easy to find.

Fox Hollow: I liked and we were considering it there but we really didnt like the Briar Fox room which was what they were giving us. I felt like it was small in there and the ceiling were low (JMO) However we liked the choice of food and the decor was a little too cozy for us. I also liked that there was outside photo options.

Swan Club: the Grounds were gorgeous! I loved them. But I wasnt crazy about the food that I had there. THey didnt give us that many choices (4 options for dinner) and I found it really hard to find. Guests need a gps to find it because it can be hard to find.

I think it really depends on what your style is and what you are getting for your money. I've never been to the Swan Club but I know a friend of mine got married there and said it was good, and she has very beautiful pictures. I checked out Fox Hollow with FH and while we thought it was really beautiful, we didn't particularly care for the room that they were offering us, we thought the ceilings were a little low. We chose Chateau Briand because they were giving us the most for our money and we liked the decor better, it was different from all the other places we had seen. Also, we really liked the area for the outdoor CH. It was more modern, and Fox Hollow was a little too 'homey' for our style. Ideally, I would have liked a place that had an outdoor garden area for pictures but honestly, it could rain, so I didnt want to pick a place just for the outside. I could always just go 5 mins away to Eisenhower park or something. So really, it just depends on what you want and what your personal style is. Hope that helps! (Wow, I wrote a book, lol)

Re: What Do U Think About(Chateau Briand vs. Fox Hollow vs. Swan Club)???

Here's my two cents... Sorry this may be long, but it's only my opinion/expierences with a few facts thrown in....

Swan Club --> I've been to 3 weddings there, and personally I feel like I get lost going there every time. I have tons of OOT guests coming so I didn't want them to feel 'lost' before the wedding. Their grounds are gorgeous and food/rooms are great. Service was good and I was amazed how one person got married on site and with in a few minutes after getting married, the guests were asked to wonder the gardens and they turned the ceremony site into cocktail hour.. That was nice. One other thing to keep in mind is that they do many weddings at a time and you 'share' the gardens at times.

Fox Hollow--> I'm gonna say love it, but that's b/c I booked there. I love the cozy feel of the rooms especially the winter garden pavilion room (our Cocktail hour). I love the fact that there is an indoor photo studio for if it rains but also lots of grounds for outside pics as well. We also are having the ceremony there so the ceremony in the garden with the waterfall/bridge caught our eyes. Scotto Brothers owned so they have a good reputation, good food (have eaten in the restaurant many times), great service no matter when we go, and the inn, all though expensive, is only a few drunken steps away at the end of the night. One bad thing about the hotel next door... there is a no party policy after 10pm so absolutely no after party for my wedding there. not even allowed to 'hang out' in rooms.

CB --> again, Scotto Brothers owned so same reputation. I have been to a few weddings here, but didn't look into it for ours. The food is great. It is probably the easiest location to get to, but we didn't want a very modern wedding location (My FH comes from upstate NY so he, for some reason, feels 'overwhelmed' when he goes there) I also wasn't sure if/where we would be able to have an outdoor ceremony or pics. You would need to find out if this is what your interested in.
The holiday inn is next door, but unlike the fox hollow inn where guests get full buffet breakfasts in the am, you only get continental breakfast.
Ine thing to think about.. It's right next to the mall.. If you forget something you can always run across the street Hey you never know....

Hope this gives you insight.. overall go look at the three and see which one just feels right! That's what we did.. For us the Fox Hollow seemed to be 'ours' when we were there.

I THANK ALL OF YOU SO MUCH FOR THE RESPONSES! TODAY FH AND I WENT BACK TO CHATEAU BRIAND AND I GOT THAT 'FEELING' AGAIN. I LOVED THE SWAN CLUB BUT THOUGHT THAT THE CAMELOT ROOM WAS STRUCTURED A LITTLE TOO WEIRD. I DIDN'T LIKE HOW THEY HAD ALL OF THE TABLES TO ONE SIDE OF THE ROOM. ALSO THE MENU DIDNT HAVE ALL THAT MANY CHOICES. WE THOUGHT IF WE WERE SPENDING ALL THIS MONEY FOR A WEDDING WE SHOULD GET OUR MONEY'S WORTH AND THATS WHY WE DECIDED TO GO WITH CHATEAU BRIAND.

I think they all have such diffferent decor. I personally loved CB. Swan Club says theie biggest room hold s over 200 and they lie. I have been in that room with 200 it was so packed that the person behind you had to get up inorder for you to get up . Every cramped. Also bar is outside and the room was empty toward the end of the night. This is IMO. However, all three places are beautiful. Went to a wedding at each place in 08. Also, CB holds a lot more guest with extra room. The leonardo Divinci room where I had my reception helo 260 w no problem and tons of room to spare.

I am getting married at Chateau Briand and we looked at 15 different places before it. It was perfect for both of us and the price was right. I haven't heard anything bad about it.

As for the highway when you are there you do not even notice it. When your outside you would never know! I have alot of people coming from Brooklyn so its nice for them bc it is easier for them to get there. Also if they want to take the train its not a far cab ride.

Plus they just re-did the outside it is amazing!

HANDS DOWN FOX HOLLOW!

Foood service grounds everything are top notch. Not only because i had my wedding there but our families are very picky about food & service & everyone raved about our wedding & said its the bestthey have ever been too.

Ive been to CB & SC I like them but things i dont as well. The fox had it all IMO & since my wedding was two weeks ago It solidified why i choose them. AMAZING!
