What do u think of this idea or is it too sweet16ish???

I was thinking of having a slide show during the cocktail hour where there are baby pictures of me, my FH and my parents who have both passed on as well as me and Fh when we were dating until present. Has anyone done this? Is it expensive?Or a waste of money? Who does this, DJ or videographer or photographer?

The DJ should be able to do that for you. (The DJ we met with mentioned doing this.)

I was actually at an engagement party where they did this. They played 'Through the Years' in the background. It was very cute. Fine, I'll admit it, I cried a little is was so sweet.

If I do do this, when do they do it, during cocktail hour?when the guests are in the lobby?reception?dessert? Expensive, round about how much, just a ball park, just want to know what I am dealing with. I already put a call into the DJ.

I had a friend who did this....it was very nice, until it went on for 4 - 5 songs. Just make sure your slide show doesnt last too long - we had to sit through pictures of her as a child, pictures of him as a child, pictures of them dating, pictures of each of their friends...it got way too long and must people lost interest after the second song. And I was in a few of the photos and I wanted it to end.

I think it's a great idea!

I am a complete idiot when it comes to computer stuff . . .but I taught myself how to do a photo presentation on MS PowerPoint. You can save it to disk, and play it back on a laptop!

You can pull it off!

we're doing something similiar. in between the BP being announced and us being announced there will be a 2-3 minute slideshow of me growing up, FI growing up and then pics of us together. we are doing it to 'I could not ask for more'. it's costing us $500 on top of the normal DJ package.

I want to do this, too. My friend did it and it was beautiful- she tried to include a pic of everyone present.

It's also done through your videographer. I believe it was an additional $1,000 with that added screen (it actually plays all night - - of the guests, sceens from the ceremony, etc.)
