Do you call them Mom/Dad, Mr/Mrs Smith, or by their first names after you are married?

i call him pops.. but in a sarcastic kinda way. dont know if he minds.. but i dont care lol we have that type of relationship where i call him either pops or his initials..'yo JS!' lol his mom.. well she refers to herself as MOM when she leaves me voicemails and emails me since we got engaged. i dont call her anything.. its usually 'hey,...pauuse....then start speaking lol

I was talkin with a friend about that the other day lol. I never called her anything but ( hi say hello, hi etc) but i would call her Ms, Mary (mary her first name).

I personally think that mom/dad are the ppl that raised you and gave you birth. Therefore I will for sure not call them mom/dad. Maybe by their 1st name not 100% sure yet.

FH mom passed away 12 years ago and I've always called his dad by his first name. FH doesn't even like calling his father dad (he wasn't the nicest to FH when he was growing up and it a bit nutso now) so I would never call him dad either.

Rosy and Steven. (Their first names.)
They're soooooo young, I could never really call them by their last names. Plus, I'm going to be Mrs. (their last name) and it would be weird to call them by my new name.
Interesting question though! You have to go with what you're comfortable with and they like too!

I also never really called FH's mom by any name. But then after about 4 years, she yelled at me (not really) and told me to call her something. So I called her by her first name. And FH has, and probably will continue calling my mom Ms. ____________

i call them by there first names, once in a while by their last! i sign all cards mom or dad, but thats cz its signed by both of us.

I call FMIL by her first name. When I talk about her to FH I just call her 'Mom' and he gets which mom I am talking about ... but to her, I call her by her name - it's the only thing I've ever called her! Though probably in a few years after we are married I will come up with some variation on 'Mom.'

my parents are mom and dad....fh is old school italian so his parents are ma and pa so it works!!!!

I never really call them anything but FH's SIL calls them Mom and Dad so I think after we get married I will have to follow suit. They have signed recent cards love Mom and Dad so I know that's what they would like. It will be weird at first but I'm sure in time it becomes second nature.

I don't call them anything really... I'd be embarrassed to call them by their first names but equally embarrassed to call them by their last so I am kind of hoping I can just coast by on hello's and How are you's??

FH has a great relationship with my parents, he calls my Mom - mama dukes and my dad - pops. When it comes to his parents I usually don't call them by anything, but I guess every now and then I will use their first names, but when FMIL signs a card or leaves a voice mail she will say Mom!!
