What do you call your FILs??

I just found out that I will be calling my future ILs 'Mr. and Mrs. B' for the rest of my life, even after I become 'Mrs. B'! I'm sorry, but there's a time and a place for manners....I know these people so well, but they are so old-fashioned, so I have to play the 'Mr. and Mrs.' game for the rest of my lives. I find it a bit annoying - anyone else with me??

I call them by their first names... they are not my parents, although i love them dearly, i just dont feel comfortable, but mrs and mr sounds too formal for family IMO
edited to say- that typically i avoid calling them anything, but when I have to it is their first name

I honestly dont call them anything.. I know thats awful but I just dont feel comfortable calling them the nick names they have told me to use..so I dont

that really su8ks. if you ask me that is wierd. i would think if they were old fashioned they would want you to call them mom and dad.

They asked that you call them Mr. and Mrs. forever? That's a bit formal for family. I call my ILs by their first names.

I have always called them Mr. & Mrs. recently since the engagement I have called his mother by her first name and we tease my FIL by having me call him 'dad' but he is old and has alzheimers already so he laughs. If he laughs I laugh.

I can't see my FIL's wanting me to call them anything other than by their first names... at least I can say that about FMIL. The way she treats me... I could never call her 'mom' she is not at all worthy of being called the same thing I call my mother!

I call my ILs mom & dad--my parents did it with their in-laws & that is what I became most comfortable with. Maybe your ILs will realize one day when all of you are in the same room (including your parents) and your FH calls them something other than Mr & mrs I would totally find out though if that is what they want--just seems so formal for someone that is becoming a part of the family.

1st names - thats it - no mom, no dad - weird... just their names and thats that...

I call my IL's by their first names.

Hmm... perhaps after a while Grandma and Grandpa could work? Just another thought to throw into the mix.

i call mine mr & mrs d right now but they said to eventually call them by their first names. but that makes me uncomfortable so i don't know what to call them. i definitely won't call them mom and dad b/c they're not my mom and dad. i'm cool with calling them mr & mrs...

I'm close with my ILs, and I call them by their first names. I always have, so it's just natural.

I have the same prob i call them Mr. and Mrs.--they havent offered any other way so Im going to stick with this right now, and maybe after the wedding something will change?
