Re: What do you do..

I'm so sorry for your losses..
What I was going to do for the people in our families that we lost was list their names in my programs with a poem (which i have somewhere, i found it on this site).
You can also put a picture of them or your mom and dad's wedding picture in the RH where you will have your place cards. And there are little picture frame charms that can hang from your bouquet ( i think that is a beautiful idea).
Hope i helped!

Re: What do you do..

I found something on a website...this might work for those that want to remember someone special who passed.

Memorial Candle Lighting
Lighting memorial candles during the wedding ceremony can be a way to honor the memory of parents, grandparents or other close relatives who have passed away. During the ceremony the memorial candles are lit on behalf of those being remembered, and the congregation pauses in a moment of silence.

Photos in Remembrance
Placing photos of those to be honored in a visible place in the ceremony is another way to recognize those who are no longer with you. The bride and groom could place a flower by the pictures at some point in the ceremony. A prayer in honor of the deceased can also be said before the ceremony.

Seat of Honor
You could consider a 'Seat of Honor' at your wedding ceremony to honor family members who have passed away. A vacant chair decorated with flowers is placed near the altar. The minister can make an announcement of what the seat represents to the couple.

Wedding Program Remembrance
If you have a wedding program booklet for your ceremony, be sure to use that opportunity to remember deceased relatives and friends. This is one way to honor those people without an actual public memorial ceremony.

It's Your Decision
Some wedding couples are afraid that a tribute to those who could not be with you could dampen the happy mood of the wedding day. Others feel that keeping their memory alive will have an uplifting affect. The bride and groom together should decide if remembrance of deceased relatives and friends is appropriate for the their special day.

A memorial service, done in a respectful and uplifting manner, can be a special part of your wedding ceremony.

im putting a locket with my sisters picture in my bouquet... i have other people that i lost too.. but my sister was the closest... im not sure what to do about the others yet though.

Thats what I wanted to do... not a locet per say, but i've actually seen small small frames... so i was going to attach one to each of my bm's bo-ks to remember all those who have passed...

Im sure many people posted this already, but many people do a memory candle... I thought that was a nice idea also

I also made a candle for my dad to be lit the whole time ... I printed on velumn ' In memory of my father my hero Joseph Amatuccio who is still with us in our hearts 3-15-60 ~ 9-11-01 ' and I wrapped it around the glass that holds the candle and I am putting it by the place cards at both the wedding and engagement party.

Re: What do you do..

We're dedicating our ceremony to FH's father and my uncle, both of whom passed. We are including this in our programs as well. We will also probably dedicate 2 songs as well. Additionally, we may make a donation to the Music In Our Hearts charity (for my uncle) and to the Nassua PBA (for FH's dad) in their memories instead of favors.
