what do you do if your trial did not go as you planned?

I was super excited to have my hair and make-up trial and though it came out ok, it was NOT what I asked for. Do I give them a second chance or if they can't get it right the first time then go with someone else? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a similiar experience. I hated my first hair trial and had them do it again. Originally they wanted to charge me but I convinced them that I wasn't going to book them based on the first hair trial and that they deserved another chance to get my business. Needless to say they did a 2nd trial that i liked...didn't love. So i tried and paid to try some where else.

I am so happy with the new trial. I knew in my gut that i wasn't going to go with the first place just based on my the lack of customers service anyway.

My advice it to definitley go try another place and try to get the first to do another one for free. These trials are expensive and we deserve to know exactley how we will haqve our hair on the wedding day. Make sure you are open about what you like and dont like during the trial and communicate as much as you can. GOOD LUCK!!

IMO I feel that you should try someone else. Because if they did not do what you asked for thats not what your paying for. They can do a nice job all they want to but if its not what u wanted and invisioned then what is the use. You shouldnt settle for that not for an important day such as that of your wedding.

Try someone else who listens

I would continue searching for a stylist that met my standards.

I had the same experience..but it was my hairdresser I had for yrs and i DOnt like anyone but her to touch my hair. I just told her what I didnt like and the day of it was perfect....but I totally trust her and know her well.

If you dont feel comfortable with the hairdresser def get other trials from other people

I had 4 hair trials that I hated. The fifth one was exactly what I wanted. Dont settle for anything. If you are not happy find someone else, there is someone out there who will do exactly what you want. Good Luck.

I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't like your trial, Eff! This is one of my nightmares. I think that foodiequeen has good advice. Let them know that you are unhappy and see if they will do it again for free. I wouldn't pay again. If it's still not what you want, I would continue the search

I would tell them and give them a second chance-free of charge of course.

See if they will re-do it. Let them know that you would like to be able to book there, but based on that trial you are not feeling confident.

I had trials I didn't like as well. I tried someone else and then I was honest with the person that did the trial. We both agreed that something was a bit off. We perfected/changed what I wasn't happy with and then I booked her.

Do what you feel is right. In my case I liked the person, I just didn't like the ultimate result, so I gave her a 2nd chance.

Keep looking, and don't limit yourself to recommended vendors listed on this site. Collect pics that you would like your stylist to recreate and go in with a vision of what you want to look like on your wedding day

I wouldn't give them a second chance, you are going to have just one wedding day why should you worry about how your hair & make-up is going to look. A trial run is just to fine tune things how you want them, but if you really didn't like anything, if it was me I would look for someone else. So you will have to pay for another trial, but you can't put a price on your peace of mind.

i just posted about my experience with this in my wedding review (My wedding review (Coindre Hall, Andrew's, Kevin Lysaght, JPI Video, Royalty Limo, Alert Bus, Muzic Makers and MORE!) )

here's my take - if you feel that the person was competent and just didn't 'get' what you wanted, let them know you were unhappy with it and see if they'll give you a complimentary trial. if you feel that the reason it didn't come out the way you wanted was because they weren't an experienced or skilled stylist then try someone else.
