I've been having a really hard time sleeping lately.
I've slept 2 hours in each of the last nights, and I'd love to go to sleep right now, but I just can't sleep

I have a very hard time believing that NONE of you said SEX. It works for me.
interesting...it does the COMPLETE opposite for me I am wide awake
My FH is the same way! He's always wide awake and then he always says I'm like a man when I roll over immediately afterward and fall right to sleep.

LOL!!!! When I was a kid I used to do that, I used to see shades of purple and red too!!! I thought I was the only one. It never made me fall asleep though.
your going to laugh at me when i tell you this! I twirl my hair its a habit now dh started that on me he twirls my hair and when i get tired now if he is not around i twirl it its so relaxing or i just lie down in bed and close my eyes and listen to so 99.9 music or walk 97.5 that puts me to sleep right away. i would call your doctor and tell him you cant sleep maybe he can give you something to help you sleep.

Usually I'll take Nyquil and if I still can't sleep, I'll get up and go on the computer for a bit, because that always seems to get my eyes tired.

Re: What do you do when you can't sleep?
Slow down or stop your caffeine intake after about 1pm. That's what I did, and while it wasn't a cure-all it helped greatly. (This was suggested to me by my allergist of all people!) Most decongestants (psuedoephedrine especially), expectorants, and allergy pills have ingredients that can cause sleeplessness. Remember also: chocolate has caffeine in it, so try to avoid that in the evenings too. Try not to take the Tylenol PMs because too much acetaminophen is not good for your liver or kidneys. Try Simply Sleep, which is the same thing with just the diphenhydramine HCl (no pain reliever).
