What do you do with your...

What do you do with your...

Parents/FH's parents in terms of getting them to the reception from the church? My reception is about 45 mins - 1 hr away from church. Are they supposed to go in a limo? (Disregard price issues...)

Sometimes I feel like such a dummy b/c I really don't know how things are supposed to be done, yet I'm almost 30. The other thing is my sisters are 40 and 37 - they're my MOH's, and things were done a LOT differently when they got married.

Any ideas or even just sharing what you ladies are doing would be super helpful.

Thanks!!!!

I'm not sure actually. My ceremony is going to be at the same place as the reception. I am running into a similar issue trying to figure out how I am getting to my RH! (I'm staying at a hotel near by, but getting ready at the RH.)

My parents, their dates (my parents are divorced) and FIL's will all be going together in a limo.

i am not pos but i think that you are supposed to get three limos...on the way to the ceremony you and your girls are in one FH and boys are in another and FIL and ur parents are in another...then on the way to the reception the whole bridal party is in one you and FH are in another and then FIL and ur parents are in another...im not pos but this is how we did it for my cousins wedding

i am not getting limos bc my ceremony and RH are at the same place and we are all getting ready at the RH...and afterwards everyone is gunna need there car there to get home so im just driving to my RH...well making my mom drive me lol its only about 10 min away from where i live so im not spending hundreds of dollars on a 10 min ride

Good question because I was debating this with my sis the other day. She told me that for her wedding, she only provided a limo for her BP but I feel like I need to have some form of car service for the parents.

Hmm... okay it seems like I should do this, but then how do they get home? How do me and FH get home? Why have I never thought about this before today?? LOL

FH and I are getting a car to pick us up from the RH after and bring us to the hotel where we're staying. It's part of our limo package.

As for your parents - maybe aunts or uncles can bring them? Maybe your brothers/sisters dates?

Many of our guests will be staying in a hotel that night, including all of our parents, and we are going to have a shuttle from the RH to the hotel. So they can leave their cars at the hotel the morning of and then they have a way home the morning after.

I think they are driving.... They are considering using a car service for the reception, but I think they would actually prefer to drive.

I think its whatever you want. My mother plans on driving bc its only my mom and grandmother who would be in the limo, so she told me don't waste the money and the church is only 5mins away.

this is the main reason why i didnt want to do limos bc everyone who takes a ride in the limo to get there has no way of getting back home or to a hotel basically wherever they are going after unless you supply a limo or a ride for everyone!

Me and FH are doing something similar to this...we're renting (2) 8-10 pass limos to RH and then after reception (1) 12-14 pass limo will pick us up to take us home (some of the people that came with us in limos have other ways home)

When I was speaking to the guy we might be using for limos he said that me and FH would be given a car from the limo company for no additional charge to pick us up and bring us to the hotel. For the parents, I would say they should either plan ahead and have a car dropped off or make other arrangements with people attending. We also asked the limo company and he said he would give us a 10 passenger limo for 150 bucks to bring people home. That would cover the parents, and grandparents but I dunno if we are going to do that. My dad paid for his car service to both of my sis's so we might just have the parents handle that.

After the ceremony, we will take pictures with them and have a limot take them to the RH.

my grandmother drives so she can drive herself if she wants, but I think im gonna offer them a limo with my parents. she may want to drive because my grandfather has demntia and he gets anxiety about events and makes himself sick :( so she may want to get him out and home if she needs to.
