What do you do with your engagement ring during the ceremony?
Original post by GMD
Do you keep it on your ring finger or do you have someone hold it for you and put it on after the ceremony? I have no clue!

During my ceremony, I moved it to my R hand. To be honest I doubt anyone noticed. I moved it back subtly immediately after the ceremony, so when all the 'congratulations' hugs came they saw both on the one hand.

I think I'm going to move my engagement ring to my right hand permanently. I hate the way my engagement ring looks with other rings...does anyone else feel this way? It's so asymmetrical...I hate it.

wow i had no idea that this is what people were doing. MY gf ask me this question and i said told her the groom removes it then puts on the wedding band that puts back on the e-ring...go figure, i wonder where i learned that

This thread is from 2005. Anyway, there is no 'right' or 'wrong' thing to do. You can do whatever you want! I wore my e-ring just like I always do. I wear my wedding band on top of my e-ring. That's just how I wanted to do it. Just go with what feels right for you. If you want to wear it on your right hand, do that.
