So I'm looking through my proofs yesterday, all excited. Then I come up to this pic of the groomsmen all outside and posed. At first glance I'm like, what are they doing? Look closer and they all have up their middle finger. My reaction was, 'OMG, why would they do this in my wedding pictures'. We call my brother because DH was working, oh and my brother was the only one in the pic who didn't do it and has this look on his face like, 'this is stupid'. Apparently the photographer told them all to throw up the finger.
What would you do? Obviously I want to tell him that I didn't appreciate seeing that in my proofs, but my mom is all ready to call him because it totally ruined her experience. After that, she didn't have one nice thing to say about my pics and was so irritated.

Re: What do you girls think of this?
Was DH there when they did that? I would speak to him first and find out exactly what happened and what his role was in this.
Afterwards, I would definatly call the photographer. I would be so put off by a picture like that. Its not creative..its not funny...its just tacky.

Are you kidding me????? I would ask DH what happened if he was there and then absolutely call the photographer! I would be livid. You're paying money for these photos and did they honestly think you were going to find that funny or pick it for your album????/

I think it's funny.
It's only one picture...and you don't even need to use it anywhere. I'm sure there are lots of other pictures that you won't be using.
Is your DH in the picture? I'm curious if he went along with it.
It's really not a big deal, IMO.

ITA! speak with DH first, see if it really was the photographers idea, or maybe one of the GMs mentioned it as a joke and everyone got in on it. (it happens- guys are dumb lol) if DH says that it was the photogs idea, call the photog and let them know that you find it tacky, tasteless and insulting.

i agree. i dont think its necessarily funny, but its just one picture. talk to DH about it, but i dont think you need to call the photog and complain.

Yes, I spoke to DH last night about it. He said it was the photographer and DH felt like it wasn't a big deal. He's like so we don't use it. But still, I didn't expect to see that as I flipped through my proofs!

lol...i dont know why im laughing because I feeling i'm going to get an offensive picture...
FH & his brothers did this at a recent wedding, and the professional photographer encouraged this. (FYI: the birde works for this photo company)

If your DH was there and was okay with it, then I don't really think you can call the photog and say anything.

no offense but what is the big deal? I think you are overreacting a bit. It is one picture which you do not have to use. I would not make a big deal of it at all and would not even mention it to the photographer.

i agree - i think it's funny ... maybe not in the best taste, but it's just a picture. And as your DH said, it's not a big deal - you don't need to use that shot.
i would just let it go. but if you're really put off by it, can i just ask what you're expecting the photographer to do if you complain? are you hoping for a discount or something?

I don't want a discount, no. But I feel like he totally put a bad taste in everyone's mouth. What if my nephew had been sitting there with us looking at the proofs? I think it's classless for such a special event.

I actually don't think it's that big of a deal...ESPECIALLY if your hubby was there and went along with it. I really don't think there's anything you could say to the photographer.

Re: What do you girls think of this?
did the photographer take pics of the groomsmen taking shots or drinking or anything like that- that doesn't promote a good example either to the little ones so i don't know if that is a good argument.

Trust me, I'm sure there were some people doing classless things at your wedding; it just didn't get captured by your photog.
Let it go, it's not a big deal.

Re: What do you girls think of this?
oh man i would be upset over it its such a special day and that is just kinda rude especially if the photographer said to do it i mean even if its one pic and its funny whats the point?? noone is EVER going to put that in their album..next to all of their beautiful wedding photos so why even waste the pic? but then again at this point what can you do about it? it is what it is and if the photographer encouraged it i would say something.

No he didn't, but I think having a drink is very different than saying 'f-you'.

Re: What do you girls think of this?
Sorry for the bad picture....I think what is acceptable to some is not acceptable to others...I would be able to shrug it off..My religious mom would not find it funny at all... At least it is a proof and can be removed... I am surprised that a photographer would pose that pic...I can see a bunch of guys doing it on their own though... Don't let it ruin your joy at the rest of the pics...Mom will come around when you put together nice ones for her.
