What do you girls think of this?

So I'm looking through my proofs yesterday, all excited. Then I come up to this pic of the groomsmen all outside and posed. At first glance I'm like, what are they doing? Look closer and they all have up their middle finger. My reaction was, 'OMG, why would they do this in my wedding pictures'. We call my brother because DH was working, oh and my brother was the only one in the pic who didn't do it and has this look on his face like, 'this is stupid'. Apparently the photographer told them all to throw up the finger.

What would you do? Obviously I want to tell him that I didn't appreciate seeing that in my proofs, but my mom is all ready to call him because it totally ruined her experience. After that, she didn't have one nice thing to say about my pics and was so irritated.

Was DH there when they did that? I would speak to him first and find out exactly what happened and what his role was in this.

Afterwards, I would definatly call the photographer. I would be so put off by a picture like that. Its not creative..its not funny...its just tacky.

speak with DH first, see if it really was the photographers idea, or maybe one of the GMs mentioned it as a joke and everyone got in on it. (it happens- guys are dumb lol)
if DH says that it was the photogs idea, call the photog and let them know that you find it tacky, tasteless and insulting.

Yes, I spoke to DH last night about it. He said it was the photographer and DH felt like it wasn't a big deal. He's like so we don't use it. But still, I didn't expect to see that as I flipped through my proofs!

If your DH was there and was okay with it, then I don't really think you can call the photog and say anything.

I think it's funny.

It's only one picture...and you don't even need to use it anywhere. I'm sure there are lots of other pictures that you won't be using.

Is your DH in the picture? I'm curious if he went along with it.

It's really not a big deal, IMO.

ITA. They took some stupid shots but out of 3500, that was fine by me. Besides, I think they are kinda funny.

Everyone has different beliefs and i definitely think it was unprofessional for the photogs to tell them to do that. You paid for a service and you expected them to be professional so for others to say it wasnt a big deal well sure for them maybe not so much, but for others it def could be and I think we should respect that.

I would be upset too HOWEVER I wouldn't say anything because honestly there is nothing that could be done to help the situation. Like the other girls said it is only one picture and bad judgment on the photog's part but nothing can really be done about it so just get rid of it and concentrate on all the other beautiful pics you do have.

I understand if it left a bad taste in your mouth and the only reasonable thing I think you can do about it is mention it in your review. But still keep in mind that it was just one pic and far worse could have happened!

I'd be upset too. I don't think that is an appropriate image for a wedding day. In fact, I think it is pretty disrespectful and crass.

yeapp! we have a pic with all the gm's and dh throwing up the finger in front of church! then when dh and i were in church takin pics, the photog asked him to do it again..... i couldnt have him do that. photog's prolly have a weird weird sense of humor. i didnt get it either.

i didnt call the photog tho, it happened and its over with. u can throw that one pic out if u want i guess....

I agree that it was a disrespectful gesture, quite literally, and I'd be pretty disappointed and shocked if I saw that in my proofs. I might say somethign about it, especially since it was the photogs idea and that is pretty unprofessional.

Sorry to crash...I would be put off also. I would say something to your photog, not to change anything, but as his client giving him feedback. He needs to know for future reference that it's not a classy wedding pic, and that you as the did not appreciate it!! Speak to your DH first to see if it was his GM's idea or the photog, and go from there...good luck!!

i honestly don't see what the big deal is. I think it's cool they had a little fun.

one of my pics has my friends hand on his GF's azz. nothing i can do about it. there's pics of me smoking...nothing I can do about it.

I think it was tacky to just suggest something like that as it would offend some. But..I wouldn't yell or be mad. I would tell the photographer 'Dude, I love my pics. But suggesting the men flip the bird isn't exactly everyone's thing so maybe in future, just ask first'.

I think a vendor needs to know what he/she does wrong to become better IMO.
