I'm just wondering what things people have booked already, and what things people plan to have booked by the end of 2009?
I was surprised to find out that booking a June wedding 2 years in advance is 'typical'...here I was thinking I was ahead of the game!
Do you all think prices will continue to go up and we should all secure our prices now? Or do you think with the way the economy is right now things might keep going down and its safer to wait? Also, does anyone know if we lock in a price today, if the same product is a lower price in the future if we get a refund of the difference? Or am I totally living in a dream world? haha

Re: What do you have booked already?
I was a lunatic that booked my hall almost a year & a half in advance haha but I wanted to do exactly what you're saying..lock in '09 prices. We also booked the DJ & Photographer..I ordered my dress in March because once I started looking I realized I am extrememly picky & didn't think that I would be..so once I found a dress that was perfect... I was not going to take a chance of it being discontinued. I really went to like 8 places & was done. I hated trying anything else on & I havent seen anything around that even makes me thinkg twice. .. that will be it for right now..I think we are all very smart in doing things early because prices will just keep going up & I want it all saved, if not paid for well in advance. It's rare that anything comes back down in price ..just the housing market haha..but if anything did I don't think we would get any money back becasue we sign a contract & that pretty much means it's set in stone which is good becasue if it goes up, which it will we don't want them raising prices on us!! haha.. good luck & CONGRATS!!

Re: What do you have booked already?
Thanks! & Congrats to you too!!!!!
I'm hoping to book the photographer & band by the end of June, and i found a coupon for m & v limo's 50% off a wedding package in the penny saver that just came out, so I'm going to check them out just for the hell of it... as for the dress, I'm going to hold off because I really want to loose weight and be out of the 'plus size' bridal section. Most of the dresses I have seen that are plus sized are nothing I can picture myself in. Its the motivation I have been lacking for the past few years!! I'll tell ya that much...lol I just booked the hall Thursday, but the high of wedding planning is awesome! haha

Re: What do you have booked already?
it is such a high! I def. have wedding OCD..but I always did know I am engaged & allowed to freak out! haha..just to warn you alot of people have had negativity on her about M&V. I don't know why..maybe it's other companies posing as brides and bashing them..which is done on here apparantly..becasue I've known the owner's family for 17 years & have heard nothing but good things come from them. I will most likely end up using them as well...there is no rush at all for a dress..im just crazy & want to be able to invision myself in it until the day!! I had a dream I it came in last night haha..but we all are trying to knock off weight. I did weight watchers when I was 19 & lost about 30 lbs. I have pretty much maintained for a long time. (i'll be 27 next month) it's the most sensible way to loose weight I feel & now I know how to keep it off too! haha

I plan to bring my 6'3' 280lb goomba father to most of my contract signings...maybe his appearance alone will scare people into doing right by me! hahahaha
I did weight watchers before, it really does work! I just didn't keep it off stupidly! lol I also really really REALLY hate the gym, but I really hate the lack of choice in dresses more, so I'm joining the gym sometime next week. eek!

Re: What do you have booked already?
we have the church, RH, DOC, Limos, Hair/Makeup, Cakes by Jay and Photo (who will also be doing our STD's) and Video all booked!
We have the band and ceremony musicans picked out, we just have to pay and sign that dotted line...
I am in the midst of dress shopping, and pending an apt on Tuesday will have that done! I also found a head piece that I adore!
I know who I want to use for the florist, so I will be doing that soon too, prob in June.
We went to visit the Roslyn Claremont yesterday and it was GOREGOUS!!! we will most def be staying there for our wedding night, and we might have the RD there.
We are looking to do a two stop honeymoon, Playa Mujeres Mexcio and then off to disney.
Our E-Party plans are also coming along well! We are having it at the Westbury Manor. We will be ordering the invites in July, and on Tuesday we are going to meet with a truffle place about favors. (and the florist will hopefull be able to do some low CPs for the eparty as well)
So i believe that is where I stand for now. Everything else I have lots of ideas for, its just a matter of time and tweaking....
I realllllyyyy love wedding planning!!! hehehe

Re: What do you have booked already?
I have absolutely nothing booked yet! But I know which RH I'm picking and am in the process of booking that. Next will be the DJ which i also know who I'm having so that should be within a month. Then hopefully photography, but it looks like a few places aren't booking for 2011 yet. Then also the florist and Limo by the end of the year like everyone else said, want to lock in the 09 prices...why not? Good Luck!

I booked with Cynthia Ross affairs. She is amazing. She met me at Roosevelt field and we talked about every aspect of the wedding. Her price is the best that I found also. FM for details.
