what do you think?

My batchelerette party is the weekend of June 7th in fireisland. FSIL is in my bp and she had a baby yesterday. She already said she couldn't come to batchelerette party because she was having a baby. The weekend is a month a way and a few people are only coming for the day. She wouldnt have to stay over night. Would you be insulted?

No, I wouldn't be. It can be difficult to leave an infant that young for several hours. Is she breastfeeding? I'm sure when the baby gets older she'll spend some quality time with you to make it up.

I wouldnt be insulted- I am probably going to have to deal with the same thing for my party- 2 of my BM are giving birth in July. that's life, at least they will be there for the wedding and that's what counts!

I'd totally understand if she wasn't able to make it, even for the day... the baby will only be one month old. It's hard to leave a newborn for that long.

I agree! also, most newborns wake up every few hours... that is a difficult time for new mothers. going out for a party is the last thing i would want to do. at least she will be there for the wedding! thats the most important!

i'm going through something simliar. one of my good friends will be about 8 months preggos around the time of my bachelorette. i complained to her about it before she was pregnant and still do that i'm annoyed she got pregnant and can't help me fully celebrate! I'm only half serious though. I'm happy for her and excited about her baby, but at the same time being selfish b/c i want her to help me celebrate, like i did for her last year!

so i understand you being disappointed, but you can't really be insulted. she just had a baby.

I would understand 100%. I have 2 kids though. The first six weeks may be the best of your life, it is really exciting, but it is extremely tough. If the baby doesn't sleep much it is even worse. Sleep deprivation is an understatement. My son was a handful. I was happy to get 2 hours of straight sleep. So long as she is at your wedding and possibly your shower, you should be grateful.
