What do you think about...

I'm ASKING for opinions so toally open to all honesty about this.

I am walking down the aisle on my own but FH will meet me halfway (where the pews separate). He'll move my veil and ...here's where I would like opinons...will be moving my engagement ring from my left hand to my right hand. Then we'll continue walking.

So - what do you think? Romantic, waste of time, too big of a prduction...

In my honest opinion this sounds very sweet but I would be worried about it taking too much time.

That's what I was thinking too. I definitely want to meet halfway but it might be easier to just link arms and continue walking.

you might know what you are doing, and the people that are right there might know, but for those that are not as close, they may have no idea.

I like the idea of him meeting you and lifting your veil, but I think transferring the ring seems a little odd. Maybe skip that part?

Thanks everyone this was helpful. I get these ideas once in a while that I know are a little much but of course I can't help but entertain them. I think we'll definitely stick to lifting the veil and then walking down together.

You are absolutely right - most people won't know what's happening with the ring and it'll just take up time - people will be confused and I'd prefer to not do that.

I agree with the gang. Don't do the rings. Aside from the reasons provided, if either of you are nervous, you might drop it in the process of moving it from one hand to the other.

Well I don't have either parent to walk me down the aisle so I was going to walk down on my own - no big deal although I did feel nervous about the idea. FH asked me if he could meet me halfway - the pews separate at one point with a walkway. As I enter he will step down from the alter and walk to that area - but on the side - not down the center aisle. Then we'll meet there and walk the rest together. He didn't want me to walk alone - he says that one of the benefits of getting married is that I'll never have to walk alone again - how awesome is he?!

I think it's a fairly common tradition at Jewish weddings that the groom meets the bride halfway down--I like the symbolism of it.

This is true. My husband met me half way down the isle and we walked to the huppah together. I didn't have either parent to walk me down the isle either...but I aksed my cousin to do it. It was nice.

In the first pick you can see my husband met us in the middle....the second is of us under the huppah.
