What do you think about a Fiesta-themed bridal shower?

I am throwing a bridal shower for my sister who is getting married May 26th. I have already booked a country club for her shower, however this weekend we were at a party at that same country club and my sister specifically said to me during dinner 'I really hope you don't have my shower here because the food is horrible!'

I'm glad she said it because I wouldn't want her to be disappointed! Plus, she's right the food wasn't good and I'm glad we found out now rather than at her shower!!

ANYWAY, I know of a Mexican restaurant that does bridal showers, etc. and my FH says it's the best Mexican food around. I'm going there for dinner on Thursday. I'm on a tight budget and most nice Italian/American places in my area are too expensive.
I just wanted some opinions about it from you girls. My sister and my entire family love Mexican food and I'm thinking most people nowadays like it too. I thought maybe a fiesta theme would be fun!
What do you think???

**** these are the favors I ordered for her shower - I just got them in the mail yesterday and they are AWESOME! I think they would go with the theme, right??

I, personally, would love it - but what if someone doesn't like mexican?

I think its such a cute idea - which mexican place are you thinking of?

I was almost going to do that as well. And who cares if not everyone likes it? As long as the bride will be happy, then I say go for it.

I thought about there being the chance that some people don't like Mexican food, but I will obviously state in the invite that it's a Fiesta theme and there will be Mexican cuisine. So they'll know ahead of time what to expect. And hey, who doesn't like a quesadilla? I think it's pretty universal.

I live in NJ so it's a Mexican place out here.

I don't know about you, but I kind of get sick and tired of the same old bridal shower/baby shower food.... chicken marsala, chicken francaise, penne ala vodka, etc. Not that those dishes aren't good because they are, but it's just more typical ya know?

I know!! I've been looking for invites already and there's a lot of cute stuff out there! I'm excited about it... I think it's a fun idea! If I were invited to a fiesta-themed shower I'd be happy to go! I also already have her favors and they would actually fit the theme!

I think it's an awesome idea!!! I love Mexican food. I think you could do so many fun things with this theme, too...like have a signature Margarita for the day, get a giant pinata and put her wishing well stuff in there...I say go for it!

These are the favors I already ordered for her shower from Pier 1! I just got them in the mail and they are much prettier and larger than I expected! I'm psyched!
I think they would totally go with the theme! I bought the pink and green ones!

I really like the idea of the Fiesta...I think it will be so much fun. The favors that you are ordered are great and they will fit in perfectly with the fiesta theme.

We did this for my cousins bridal shower and everyone loved it. It was alot of fun. It's true though that not everyone likes mexican. We just asked the restaurant to make a plain chicken dish and they were fine with it. FM me (so I don't forget) and I'll send you pics when I get home.

my friend's mom did this for her, i couldnt go, i was on my honeymoon- but they did it at someones house who had a nice backyard and pool and such- and apparently it was a lot of fun!
