cake topper, my friend emialed it to me, now im in love with it, the only problem is, its way out off my buffet, its about $1400 U.S OH MY The bad part about is, the colors are perfect for my theme. Honestly do these people think I have a magical tree in my backyard. Besides the price im in love with it. Im confuse, please help...what do you girls think?

I don't think I would spend $1400 on a cake topper. I would try to find something similar at a cheaper price.
I agree - I would never spend that much money on a cake topper (I did not even spend that much money on my wedding dress!).

Its def neat looking and would prolly work out great, but, do you really want to spend that much on it? Is it in your budget? Would you rather put the money towards your honeymoon or photos? Or would you rather have this which you can use for anniversaries- will you actually do that? Do you think you would be happy with something else instead? Just some things to think about! :)

After pricing so many other things, I think 1400 bucks for a cake topper is an awful lot. For that same money, you could:
-hire another photographer -have a second videographer -have anywhere from 10-30 more people attend the wedding (depending on your hall pp) -add three more instruments to your band -pick up a block of 10 hotel rooms for the night before/night of your wedding
300 seems more reasonable, though I still think it's a bit much for a cake topper.

I agree! I tend to buy the occassional extravagant item... such as real wedding jewelry, letterpress invites, a couture veil, but a $1400 topper is beyond my rationalization.... you could do so much more with that money... You could buy a really amazing videocamera for the honeymoon for that $.... or even better, save the $$$ for the future...

I do think that is gorgeous, but it is honestly not worth that much money for something that will be seen for a few minutes one day of your life. Think about what that money could be used for in the future. I really wanted a lladro cake topper that cost like $800 and I was trying to figure out how to pay for it until I just stepped into reality and realized it was kind of silly. You will find something else that you will love!

If you want to laugh, I was looking at pics of my MOH's wedding and realized that it was the first time I was seeing her cake..it was lovely, but the point is...if I didn't notice (and I look at everything), a $1400 cake topper isn't really going to suit the same purpose as something else $1400 can buy...

I think $1400 is alot for a cake topper. Unless you really have the room in your budget for it, I'd say skip it.. But then again, I didn't have a cake topper so I guess I'm biased.

That was my invitation--I went with a Lily of the Valley/Bicycle theme, and definitely did my fair share of 'splurging.' The $229 cake topper is very pretty so I would go with that one, instead of the $1400 one. That really might be too over the top. My little topper (also totally appropriate for our wedding) cost around $80 (the shipping from France cost more than the item itself)--and it is only 6 CENTIMETERS tall. I couldn't find a better picture of it, but its a bride and groom on a bicycle. Our figurine is on display, will you be able to put the lily of the valley one out, or will you be too nervous because of the expense? My philosophy is to splurge on things that are truly unique and out of the ordinary. That certainly fits the bill.

If you look at the pics of the $1400 and the $200 one, it is the exact same thing just in different lighting.
I know this post is old but I just wanted to point this out, I think $1400 is wayyyyyy over the top for a piece of wire on top of a cake. (don't get me wrong, it's extreamly pretty, but just tooo much $$)
