Re: What do you think is the best diet out there?
i think WW, because it's not really a diet, it's a lifestyle change. any kind of radical 'diet' is going to be hard to stick to in the long-term, IMO.
if you need discipline...WW is very well regarded by most doctors...
it really helps if you go with a friend (or DH) so that you can keep motivated

I love WW. Just like karen said its not really a diet. With a diet you limit yourself to what you can eat and cut out things you love. With WW you can eat real food, hamburgers, hot dogs, shakes, cheesecake, chocolate, everything but just stay in your points range. FI and I eat steak, potato's, pasta, go out to diner, hamburgers, anything and we are both doing fantastic.
He lost to date 45 pounds and I lost 20.
Just like karen said its more of a lifestyle change. You start to watch what you eat, how much of things you eat, when you eat, and learn about foods and their points range. You find yourself bargining and budgeting on what you eat. If you are allowed 18 - 23 points a day and you have 6 points for breakfast but know that your husband is making a wondeful diner you may have a salad and light snacks like a pretzel for lunch so you can have that great diner. You can also bank points which means if you dont use your full points in one day but you have to hit your min you can bank those extra points and the next day can have a little extra because you have extra points. when you work out you get extra points too.
Definatly check out the ww website to learn more. its weightwatchers.com
I am so glad I am on WW and my only regret I didnt do it sooner.

I don't think there is one best diet.....there are so many people with so many different bodies & metabolisms, etc... I think as long as you eat sensibly & try to do a bit of excersise that is a good start, then the rest is trail & error (mostly error ) to find what is best for you.

Any diet that you can stick to! This is just like what is the best workout/machine/exercise you can do...anything that you can stick to because nothing is going to work if you don't do it all the time!
I love WW, for everything Melissa said, it really teaches you about portion control and watching what you eat, you can do this for the rest of your life, slip up a day or 2, weeks, etc. but get back on and continue to lose.

I think the best diet is MODERATION, and portion control. It is ok to eat some fatty foods, or for example if you want a cookie, have one or two. It is when you eat the whole sleeve of them, that is where the problem is. If you foolow a good eating habit, exercise, and drink a lot of water, you will see results.
