they're perfect for smaller 'stocking stuffer' type gifts - like if someone wants to give you a spatula they'd put it in there.

I love them! I try to put in something cute and non-domestic though! Last time I put in a thong that said 'Bride' in rhinestones and a pair or just married flip flops.

in my big italian family, its a tradition so we always do it. it may look cheesy but hey, its fun. you can find a cute way of making one tho.

If it's for small gifts like a spatula, I think it's a great idea. For money, it's tacky.

They dont have to be cheesy. Its a really cute tradition because like someone mentioned, you get things for the home like spatulas, aprons, a dust mop, etc. SOmetimes you get lingerie or something racier that brings about giggles. IIts just a cute thing.

Many of them are poofy white and lace but they dont have to be. You can get wooden ones that are gorgeus if a bit expensive, but they can be used again as planters if you have a yard. I want to have one-heh my MOH is on the task!

This is what you usually see at BS-you can rent them from places like party city or your florist.

LOVE this kind-Id like dasies but we dont get to plan our showers lol.

I don't think it is tacky. It was fun to get the little things in it. And most of the stuff really came in handy! I got Thnk You's, kitchen towels, tools for DH, kitchen utensils, soap, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. All stuff we needed and used!

I think they are so cute!! The last shower I went to the shower hostess bought the bride her hamper and we all put the 'wishing well' gifts in her hamper.
PS: The thong and flip flops? So cute!!!!

My cousin had a beach theme wedding and instead of a wishing well we made a sail boat out of a wicker laundry basket. It was so cute...I'll try to find pictures.
