Re: what do you think of TARGET for gift registries?
I've heard mixed things about Target on The Knot forums. The main complaint is that Target's inventory changes so frequently that items that were available on the registry may no longer be fore sale a couple months later. Didn't use Target myself.
DH's friend and his wife used Target for their wedding registry--DH and I earmarked some items we want to buy them early on, but didn't want to make the purchase till closer to the wedding. Six weeks later, a lot of what we had chosen was off the registry. Not fulfilled purchases, just not listed at all. I'm not sure if the couple edited their registry in the mean time.

I think it is a great place because you can get so much there but I have heard that the return policy isnt the best. But don't quote me on that.

I went to macy's and bed, bath and beyond first. But went it came time to go to target it was a waste of time because the other places had the same items.

AWFUL!!! It is impossible to return anything without a gift receipt!! I have 3 coffee machines, 2 microwaves 2 toaster ovens and about 60 can openers. They are not so good at removing things from the registry once they are purchased.
If you want to come register in my basement I will let you.
After you register with her you can come to my house - extra blender and wine glasses.

We have two microwaves also. Our apt came with one and then we have the one we registered for sitting at my parents. Figured we could use that when we move so we never returned it.

Re: what do you think of TARGET for gift registries?
My friend registered there for her baby shower and everytime I went to buy her bedding set, the computers were down so i couldnt print out the registry to give to the cashier to scan. Eventually I just bought the damn thing and I was instructed by the people at Target to call the 1-800 number and have them remove it from her registry. It was quick I got a person on the phone who spoke english and was pleasant, not a big deal. Problem is not everyone is as proactive as I am. They may forget or not even care and this is how you end up with duplicates.
