tracyg that was exactly what I was thinking. No, they don't look like traditional bridesmaid gowns, and thats a GOOD thing!!

Oh my GOD- my MOH & BMs wore that dress in that exact color!! They loved them.. If you do a search under my screen name you can see a picture of me and BM. There is also another Watter & Watters dress that may be nice for your BM that isn't listed on the site anymore I don't think but comes in the same color (I got it from Bridal Reflections)- it's satin but has tulle details on the top & a tulle wrap... my little sister wore it b/c she's 13 and it was able to be tailored properly.

That color made the flowers very easy- I did a mix of pinks and purple. I got this idea b/c on the old watters catalog they had #3 on the cover and she was holding pink & light purple flowers and it looked so nice.. all my work was done for me.

Ladies - THANK YOU for all the responses! Guess she just had me questioning my judgment for a sec!!

I do agree that 1&3 coincide more, but I'm trying to distinguish the maid/matron from BMs as much as possible, also they only have 2 dress choices w/the tulle overlay (online anyways) & I posted them both, so thought that would look best on the matron, but she's got no boobs so she thinks it won't look good on her. This is totally my own fault for actually giving her a choice!

think I'm gonna have to hit a nearby bridal salong on lunch & hope they have a catalog w/a bigger selection! :)

Sanmik - the website describes the first dress as:

Satin/tulle combination ruched top with sheer surplus. A-line skirt.

It was beautiful in person!

The first dress is very hip and different - yes definitely not traditional BM dress. Maybe your MOH is uncomfortable with having to expose so much skin and so she didn't like the first dress? If possible, maybe you can go with MOH to try on the dress and see how it looks on. Sometimes dresses may look nice in pictures but once you try them on the look changes due to body type. Or maybe having tried it on, MOH will like it on her.

SSdare - thanx & I hear ya but . . she thinks those dresses aren't sexy enuf! Did I mention she's a size -0?? She'd look good (by society's standards anyway) in a burlap bag! LOL! & actually the person complaining isn't even wearing that dress, she just commented on it.

Yes I will remember its my wedding!! The comments are just annoying & unnecessary tho, how come where weddings are concerned, folk don't remember that age old saying 'If you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!'

As I mentioned, all my BMs wore dress #1 and they all loved it. It looked good on everyone.. and my party had girls of all sizes- one is a size 14 and is 5 t tall, one is a size 6 and is 5'9' and it really looked nice on everyone. It's one of those things that you need to try on.. and it isn't traditional, but when in another color, it looks more like a BM dress as opposed to black.
