You can not put a price on photo or video.

These are things you will have for a lifetime.

You will NEVER want a 24 photo album! sorry, but my parent albums had that many or more. Also, video. Do they use sound equipment such as a wireless mic on husband's lapel so that you can HEAR all of your vows? If not, then I don't care how cheap it is it isn't worth a dime. Why have a video if you cannot hear your vows.

The QUALITY is what matters. who is this with?
I used Mark Kauffman Studios for photos and Wild Rose for video. Neither of which are considered low-end. I am not sure what your FH thinks is expensive or cheap. If you put a range in we can probably recommend companies for you to look at.

24 pics in a wedding album is NOT a lot....are you sure that's all you want?

I got quoted $4495 today for 50 Pics. in my album 10x10 and 24 5x7 for 2 parent albums. 100 thank yous, 5x5 or 4x6 originals and an engagment photo session. 2 photographers and one assistant and one photgrapher shoots black and white and one shoots color. The video package was 4 hours of raw footage on VHS and 3 DVDs about 45 min. long for 2400 dollars. I think u might be a little sad with only having 24 pics in ure album.
I adnit they are on the pricey side but work is excellent. I dont think ures is that great of a deal.

That is way too high. You should have AT LEAST 50 pics in your album for that price...and more portraits, and actual parent albums.

We are fine with the number of pics thast all we want but the prioce is what kills me. I am not one to look at my pictures a billion times and i knwo wee have the proofs so we can always make our own copies but i think the price which on a breakdown is 2000 for the pics is high.
Can you please give me recommendations? i am open for looking at other places

I am getting: my album has 36 8x10s; 3 parent albums ( I need 3) 4 5x7 or 2 8x10; 1 11x14; 100 thank yous; all proofs. For my video I am getting my copy, 3 parent copies, and has all the graphics and other technical stuff. The photography is 2599.00 and the video is 1799.00. He has other packages that have less pictures than what I got. I know I may not be getting as many pictures as other companies offer but he is highly recommended by a few friends of mine.

Two things...

1) Where did you go? That sounds a lot like a package I was looking at, but did not book.

2) You have FM

You might want to check out Bellarino for your video - he has prices that are low and still quality work! FM if you want details.

while price shouldn't be an issue when choosing a photographer - i think that that is a lot of money to pay for not all that much. The reason photographers and videogrpahers are so expensive is because they deliver quality merchandise in large quantities....or at least that's what i think.
did you like the quality of the pictures you saw? And were there different varieties, or the styles you liked at least? I think the style of the photographer is sometimes more important than price...at least that's how I picked mine.
Good Luck!

Just wanted to add that you will definately want more pics in your album! My parents wound up with 40 in theirs and that was with major cutbacks on what they really wanted! We are getting 100 pics in our album and it took weeks to figure that out. Just consider a package with more pics in your album. You can always add them at the end, but it will cost you loads of money!

the price varies widely among photographers.. along with the quality...
for 2600(patken) I got 30 in my album, 2 parents albums of 12, 100 thank yous, and a bunch of pictures....
for video there are a bunch of them that range 1,000 to 2,500...

that's another important aspect - if they are willing to work with you and alter the packages they already have to accomodate you!
