I have about 400 balloons in white, ivory, light blue, and saphire blue. I was going to attach them to the middle of the centerpiece, but I saw this pic and thought it would be perfect. FYI-my centerpieces are low, not high.
Personally, I LOVE balloons--they're so fun and festive and I make FH get me balloons every birthday The only thing I thought when I considered using them myself is that it makes the room look more like a New Year's Eve party or a birthday party than a wedding.

I thought that too, but a few people at work said that it doesn't matter.

I think it really depends on what you're comfortable with doing. I didn't want to listen to FH b!tch about the balloons (he didn't like the idea) so that's how I made my decision

FH doesnt care either way. I love it. I think it will give a differnt type of aura. Someone else att my job just mentiuoned that after the wedding (ends at 8:30) the one of the guests who's wife works at LIJ, can take all the balloons in his van and drop them off at the hospital's children's ward. I thought that was a nice idea. thoughts?
In all honesty, I don't really like it for a wedding. Plus what if they start popping in the middle of it and there are pieces everywhere? 400 balloons are a lot of shrapnel (sp?)

I went to a barmitzva and they had balloons as CPs and they were popping all night and one piece of rubber went in my wine glass.

If you already have the balloons, I think I like the balloons on the ceiling better than as centerpieces.
It will definitely make your wedding stand out!

JMO - Not for a wedding. But if you do do something with them, I love the thought of putting them in a van and driving them to the hospital. Think of all the smiles they will bring!
